Ein Zimmer, vier Persönlichkeiten: Hinter den Kulissen der nächsten Fotoserien
🕑 Added 2023-10-08 12:24:07 +0000 UTCFür alle Abonnenten des Levels "Photographer's Choice" habe ich heute eine kurze Einführung zu den nächsten vier Serien, die ich veröffentlichen werde. Ich möchte euch die Hintergründe zu diesen Shootings näherbringen und erläutern, mit welchen Ideen und kreativen Vorgaben ich in dieses Projekt gegangen bin.
Anfang September hatte ich das Privileg, an vier Tagen vier unterschiedliche Frauen in einem Hotelzimmer zu fotografieren. Es handelte sich dabei um vier ganz unterschiedliche Persönlichkeiten: zwei Modelle, mit denen ich bereits vor einiger Zeit gearbeitet habe, ein Modell, das ich bisher nur aus Posts, Stories und zahlreichen Direktnachrichten auf Instagram kannte, sowie ein professionelles Vollzeitmodell aus Paris, zu dem ich vor dem Shooting keinerlei direkten Kontakt hatte.
Die kreative Herausforderung solch aufeinanderfolgender Shootings im gleichen Raum liegt für mich darin, an jedem Tag einzigartige Bilder zu kreieren. Mein Ziel ist es nicht, den Modellen spezifische Posen vorzugeben oder Szenarien zu diktieren, sondern vielmehr, die Persönlichkeit jedes Einzelnen in den Bildern zum Ausdruck zu bringen.
Interessanterweise unterscheidet sich diese Herangehensweise für einige Modelle stark von ihren gewohnten Shootings. Insbesondere bei der Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Fotografen und Modellen im Hobbybereich auf Instagram ist mir aufgefallen, dass entweder Fotografen oft sehr genaue Posing-Anweisungen geben oder die Modelle eine Abfolge von Signatur-Posen und -Ausdrücken präsentieren. Ich hingegen betrachte ein Shooting inzwischen stärker als Kollaboration in Bewegung. Ich versuche, unnatürlich statisch wirkende Posen zu vermeiden und den Modellen individuelle Wege aufzuzeigen, ihren Körper ausdrucksstark zu präsentieren, ohne auf Standardposen zurückzugreifen. Diese Herangehensweise verleiht jedem Shooting eine besondere Note, da es stets auf der Kombination von Modell und Fotograf sowie der jeweiligen Tagesverfassung, dem emotionalen Zustand und Energielevel beider basiert.
Persönlich plane ich fast jedes Shooting ohne feste Vorstellungen und lasse mich jedes Mal aufs Neue von der Stimmung des Modells und der aktuellen Atmosphäre der Location, beeinflusst durch Wetter und Licht, inspirieren. Auch die Neugier des Modells spielt eine Rolle: Selbst wenn ich vier Tage lang im gleichen Raum arbeite, reagiere ich intuitiv darauf, was das Modell beim Betreten der Location als erstes bemerkt oder besonders findet – Dinge, die mir zuvor vielleicht gar nicht aufgefallen sind.
Bei diesem Projekt war es für mich auch wichtig, dass ich das in meinem vorigen Post schon einmal angesprochene Moment der sichtbaren Bewegung einfließen lassen wollte, um präsentere, stärkere und persönliche Aufnahmen entstehen zu lassen.
Ich denke, dass den Modellen und mir diese Herausforderungen gelungen sind, und freue mich schon, euch innerhalb der nächsten zwei Wochen die ersten Bildstrecken aus diesen vier Shootings zu zeigen.

One room, four personalities: behind the scenes of my upcoming photo series
For all subscribers of the "Photographer's Choice" level, I have a brief introduction today to the next four series that I will be releasing. I want to bring you closer to the backgrounds of these shoots and explain the ideas and creative guidelines with which I approached this project.
In early September, I had the privilege of photographing four different women in a hotel room over four days. They were four very distinct personalities: two models with whom I had worked some time ago, one model I only knew from posts, stories, and numerous direct messages on Instagram, and a professional full-time model from Paris, with whom I had no direct contact prior to the shoot.
The creative challenge of such consecutive shoots in the same space for me lies in creating unique images each day. My goal is not to dictate specific poses or scenarios to the models, but rather to express each individual's personality in the images.
Interestingly, this approach differs significantly for some models from their usual shoots. Especially when collaborating with other photographers and models in the hobby area on Instagram, I noticed that photographers often give very precise posing instructions or models present a sequence of signature poses and expressions. In contrast, I now view a shoot more as a collaboration in motion. I try to avoid poses that appear unnaturally static and show the models individual ways to expressively present their bodies without resorting to standard poses. This approach gives each shoot a special touch, as it always depends on the combination of model and photographer as well as the current state of the day, emotional condition, and energy level of both.
Personally, I plan almost every shoot without fixed ideas and let myself be inspired anew each time by the mood of the model and the current atmosphere of the location, influenced by weather and light. The model's curiosity also plays a role: even if I work in the same room for four days, I intuitively respond to what the model first notices or finds special when entering the location - things that might not have caught my attention before.
For this project, it was also important to me that I wanted to incorporate the idea of slightly visible motion and blur mentioned in my previous post to create more present, stronger, and personal shots.
I believe that the models and I have successfully met these challenges, and I am looking forward to showing you the first photo spreads from these four shoots within the next two weeks.
