Lindsay is right. The Marine ships keel are made with sea prism stone so that the sea kings ignore their ships. This happens because sea prism stone emits the same energy as the ocean itself making ships lined with them 'invisibility' to sea kings.

There’s a weird implication in this episode that Laboon is just….eating people? Killing them like fuckin Monstro. I get why they made changes, but now this cute little whale is a mass murderer.

I wonder how long its been since they actually saw this part of the story and context in the manga or anime , i feel like if they rewatched certain parts after catching up they might have some slightly different opinions about story structure etc

Crocus being a grumpy old man too kind for his own good, even if he pretends he isn't, made him my favorite character in the season this far. He was so done with Luffy lol.
