Honestly it had been so long since I watched these earlier episodes that I really didn't care for jinbe, but re-watching what he's done since impel down I have a new appreciation for him.

For the record, that shot of Luffy punching the Sea King is from chapter 1 of the manga. The anime tells the first few chapters way out of order, in the manga ch. 1 starts with young Luffy and Shanks then skips forward ten years to that scene of Luffy departing minus all of the stuff with Dadan, who probably wasn't thought of yet.

505 has got to be one of the best episodes in the series. Every scene was absolutely heartbreaking. Jimbei and Dadan showing they're the goats and Garp cementing his status as one by taking that beating are some of my favorite feels bad moments in OP.

It's fun that Ace specifically wanted to learn manners when you remember that the first thing the strawhats noticed about Ace is how well behaved he is for Luffy's brother...
