remember when you guys thought the crew was gonna show up at marineford, truly crazy that its been 100 episodes since the split up, i liked the solo adventures but the crew and all their funny jokes and weirdness is missed a lot, can't wait to see future reactions, many great things to come

I tend to think Dadan is unrelated to Garp entirely. There is certainly some stuff in One Piece about blood and where you come from, but it's also SO much about found family, I think it's so much sweeter if she's just a random woman became those boys' mother.

Oh man, what a tear fest this was, "Luffy, don't be defeated", "It's okay to cry", "I still have my friends". I can't believe what was supposed to be a 3 days split-up ended up being all of this. Dadan to Luffy and Ace always felt to me like Mito-san was to Gon. Yet another Jinbei banger. You just know when he the camera focuses on him and the sad music kicks in, some life-changing bars are gonna be spat.

'' I still have my nakamas '' Jinbe is the goat for this 💔❤️ Oda starved us of the Strawhats for so long that just like Luffy our mind was away from them and only focused on the tragedy of these events, and not what's next to come💔But HIMBEI was here to remind us all. The visual representation of his anguish, guilts and regrets was so good❤️

This is really why Shanks is such a pillar in Luffy's journey but also his character. Even at the beginning he feels aware of what the 'ideal' pirate(in One Piece's context) should be. And here again he's bridging the generations and watching over Luffy's growth. A growth that'll someday lead back to him and their promise. He also feels like a safeguard for the world. Fun Fact A shank is the vertical shaft of an anchor. It contains the balancing band that allows the anchor to stay, well, balanced. Which is interesting cuz Kid Luffy in the first chapter/Ep4 was wearing an Anchor shirt during the bar scene with Shanks.
