The way Oda has expressed grief and loss is so visceral and real. The feeling of waking up and forgetting it happened. The feeling of thinking it might have been a dream. I was really not looking forward to watching your guys' reactions to these episodes because it brings back the grief of losing my own brother. I appreciate watching them anyway, because in some ways it helps me, because I can empathize with Luffy in such a real way.

This whole arc is overall very negative in it's outcomes. The Whtebeards wanted to rescue Ace but failed. The Navy won but their goal was to crush the will of pirates and establish absolute control on the oceans and that didn't happen. The only thing that got accomplished was two of the strongest fighting force in the world suffered massive losses and left a chaotic power vacuum. Fitting for an arc that's just filled with Ls.
