Still i understand why some people want a remake of marinford, because there are certain sequences that were just still images with no animated frames to speak of. But I think Naotoshi Shida animated the parts of the arc that matter the most. When you compare the level of inconsistency here to saobaody previously, clearly marinford is seen as a lesser animated arc. Thankfully we don't get to much of this lazy production quality moving forward in the story.

Thats our protagonist standing tall and strong in the face of such adversity and even inspiring whitebeard to take action. That last shot has been a fans favorite moment for many years. Luffy confronting all 3 admirals in a hopeless situation that he knows he can't win, but despite that, he still is commited to saving his brother.

Luffy staring down the 3 admirals was just one of those "you had to be there" moments, both for the manga and anime adaptation. Marineford in general has a lot of these moments, but this one in particular really sticks out in my memory. You just had no idea what was coming next and Luffy was at his most desperate, it was a super fun and anxious time for One Piece fans.

When I was watching this arc first time I was like thinking is this the end of manga? This war was really huge and in some sort of way it would be interesting to finish manga at this point. But yeah, insane episode...I love how true despair situation was showed, that litteraly nothing can help. So I love how from haha 100.000 marrines bring more we will beat em all situation changed to marrines actually good, while pirates on their last breath

I really like how Luffy’s string of Ls impacts your viewing of the arc. Carson has definitely noticed. A mixture of that doubt and the sheer scale really makes the arc feel tense.
