It doesn’t feel like it for sure, but this episode is actually a part of the greater mystery narrative and adds important context to later episodes.

The Lorax

Yeah while I like every episode, this is probably the one I'd rank lowest, just because it's a bit more detached than the others. It feels very self contained, like you said, it's a plot that could happen in another show, and the style of mystery is different from others, because this is a riddle that someone wrote where as every other one is part of the larger court intrigue (though things from it are important later).

there is no filler in the apothecary diaries (not in season one and the Novels only get longer/more complex so i don’t see room for it in future seasons) but yeah this is one of the slower episodes in the series for sure
