one little thing I'd like to correct: the white makeup powder isn't made from rhododendron, it actually has white lead. A small correction, which doesn't super change the fact that it was poison, but still...

Yeah, in the novels I think they said that the current emperor only visits the 2 concubines that we were introduced and leaves alone the other 2 for obvious reasons.

yeah the previous emperor was a disgusting mf😭 and omg lindsay cooked🙏 this show touches a lot of heavy topics, when i first watched it it was a bit triggering ngl, but i love that they do it in such an organic/realistic and mature way. for example, you can see the difference in jinshi's approach to maomao after knowing she went through something that could be extremely traumatic for someone, i like little details like that in the narrative
