One of my favorite Sanji moments in this episode. He left Nami’s group while knowing well they could be in danger just to help Zoro which was in a more dire situation. It shows you even though he simps for nami and fights zoro all the time, he loves them all on the same level.

Yeah, we only see 1 panel of them squaring up with the Pacifista, the same chapter the Strawhats were still at Shakky's bar with Rayleigh, which was ep400... That whole confrontation of the two we have seen play out for these past 4 eps has been entirely anime-only

This moment in the story where luffy truly recognizes the danger of his opponents. To be able to come to a startling realization that yes, "we are in trouble, we can't beat these guys, we have to run" goes against every fiber of his being. It was an amazing character defining moment I will never forget since I was only 18 years old watching this part of the series for the first time.

The ending to this episode was always crazy to me. Even tho u know there are 700-800 or more episodes to go, from their perspective(the straw hats) Zoro evaporated before their eyes bcuz they dont rly know how Kuma's power works. Maybe he died or maybe he got send away and they will never see him again. It was insane to me when i first watched this part.

I can safely say nobody will notice it on first watch. I’ve only notice it on my second watch. Also mind you I’ve seen one piece about 4 time. Once when it came out, once in dub. Another with my brothers and cousin. Lastly on the different reactors I’ve seen watch it. Nobody catches it on first watch

I think I was 15 when I watched this episode for the first time and I just remember how devastated I was seeing Zoro disappear. Hearing Luffy tell his crew to run away two episodes in a row now feels so weird.

The reason why Captain Kidd can't mess with the Pacifistas is because the Law & Kidd vs Pacifista fight is anime only, at least in terms of us seeing any of it. In the manga we just see a Pacifista show up and them getting ready to fight it, but none of the action itself. Presumably the Toei staff didn't want to commit themselves to declaring one way or another how Kidd's power would work on Pacifistas in case they got contradicted later in the manga.

They brought up that it could also just be a non ferrous metal. Titanium, for example, is a lot stronger than steel and is not magnetic. Sanji and Zoro both note in thriller bark how his body is stronger than iron/steel. But yeah, the in world answer is probably that they didn't have it in mind when making the episode

Kid's power is electro magnetism. Some metals in real life are non-magnetic. So, Pacifistas are made of something non-magnetic.

I think that kidd is a well known pirate and the pacifistas were specifically sent there due to their being rookies everywhere, maybe vega punk did something to counter his fruit, maybe included sea prism in the pacifistas?

For your question about Kid and his magnetism regarding the Pacifista The answer is most of that fight is anime only, and was offscreened in the manga. The manga for them stops at Law's arrival when he sees that Kid is fighting one of the Pacifista, which creates a surprise when you start noticing that there's more than one Kuma. So it's just the anime taking liberties and ignoring certain elements.

Fun fact about Rayleight's name, it could be based on Sir Walter Raleigh, an English 16th-century explorer and privateer. but also it could be based on Rayleigh scattering which is the scentific term for scattering or deflection of light, or other electromagnetic radiation.

Sanji being one of the few to know why Zoro's so weakened right now left Nami, like his usual number one priority to go help Zoro. Right after he told Franky he won't be helping the guys. This guys is a hilarious liar especially when he says things like ''I hope Nami and Robin are fine.'' and others ask what about the rest. He says one thing but his actions say something else. It's like when he told Usopp he'd gladly sacrifice him to save Nami in Skypiea then ended up sacrificing himself for the both of them.
