If you really want to know the lore, Necrit covers all of the lore, cinematic breakdowns and Arcane and he does a very good job at it. So good, Riot Games have included him has a NPC in the upcoming MMO.

I’m completely blind to the lore of lol. Even if there are things people that knows will get. I don’t think that’s a problem for new viewers. At least not for me. It is noticeable when certain characters shows up, but I don’t feel like they’re leaning into it. I doubt they’d make this in a way that makes it important for viewers to know the lore to get a more complete picture of what's happening. Thank you for the reaction and I’m looking forward to more!

There's definitely stuff that'll make more sense if you know lore, but I imagine they'll fill in the gaps in later episodes. Also they've come out and said that arcane is now the true canon, so they can contradict past lore however they want. We're all in for a ride.
