What are your thoughts on the difference in resolve between Zoro and Sanji when it comes to sacrificing themselves for their crew? I'm reminded of when Sanji says "Shouldn't it be easy to give up your ambition" when Zoro is fighting Mihawk. I always felt as though Sanji was giving up on his dream in order to protect his crew, essentially trading one for the other. But for Zoro, his ambition now includes making Luffy the pirate king, so simply living through this scenario and continuing on to become the world's greatest swordsman wouldn't even truly accomplish the goal he has set for himself at this point. I'm interested to hear what you two read into their actions based on who you know them to be.

It was amazing seeing you guys enjoying Thriller Bark so much! It's often considered a C tier arc, and although it has some pacing issues and doesn't really connect to the overarching story as much as others, it's a pretty neat mostly self contained story. All this to say, what was your overall enjoyment level of this arc? By itself and compared to others? I remember you saying in the previous podcast how that saga's best moments were so good that even its lowest lows were somewhat compensated for. I'd like to know how'd you feel about Thriller Bark in that sense.

Now that Franky has had an Arc as a StrawHat, what do you think of the second "Adult" member of the crew's addition to the vibe? Ace Ventura fused with a Popeye that uses Cola instead of Spinach and has stars tatooed instead of anchors is a pretty wacky combination, are there any other characters making reference to other medias you've had a good time recognizing now that we've finished a full arc of themed content?

Saying LRLL has no importance besides Aokiji is just factually wrong Not every arc has to move the plot to be important LRLL is a character focused arc and explores what it takes to break the crew Conclusion being it won't be some external force as it failed but internal frictions All that while deepening the bonds between our crewmates especially Robin who, after seeing her dream reignited, is now enjoying the times with them before being struck by the reality of the world still chasing her again through Aokiji. First thing in the arc was Luffy giving her the time to accommodate while still encouraging her to enjoy things more, like when she spotted an island. The Aokiji introduction is important because of that characterization. It's also very important in the relationships between some of the crew members, especially Zoro and Sanji but also Luffy towards his crew. Robin witnessing that was just as crucial for the upcoming events.

Now that we know that Laboon story has been tied to a strawhat story, what do you think about Odas set ups? I know that a lot of people think that saying that Oda didn't plan for everything is an insult and that he 's a master of foreshadowing (which he is), but I think his ability to just leave open ended storylines and tie them up with the main story in the future is a bit underrated, I know you 've touched a bit on this subject but I'm wondering how Brooks and Laboons story tie up felt for you?

The anime frames the "Nothing happened" moment as a triumphant moment I would say in huge part because of the music being used. When I read the manga I had a different feeling and I 've found people and youtubers who have similar interpretations. From this point of view, nothing happened moment was one of humility and bravery at the same time, I think Oda doesn't showcase Zoros strength here, but more his willingness to sacrifice himself to push on Luffys dream. And so does Sanji. They are in a losing situation and they know not to repeat to Luffy what happened, because it would kill him to know that his crew was going to sacrifice themselves for him. This is just an interpretation of course, I was wondering what you think about that and what is your opinion in general about this arcs multiple multilayer messages (excluding any Absalom bullshit, we don't talk about Absalom).

How do you guys feel about the more esoteric devil fruits in this arc? Perona's Hollow-Hollow, Kuma's Paw-Paw, Blackbeard's Dark-Dark and even Moria's Shadow-Shadow fruits all don't inherently tell you what they are capable of just in the name the way things like Bellamy's Spring-Spring and Mr.3's Wax-Wax do. Do you feel like this is used to good effect for the reader, adding intrigue and mystery, or do you feel like it leaned more towards feeling like new abilities were made up on the spot?

So I have to ask... what are your overall thoughts on Absalom, his perversion, and his whole storyline? Personally, it's the thing I disliked the most about a pretty fun arc. Maybe I'm prudish, but Absalom's creepiness didn't work for me and felt too far, essentially just cheap, substance-less shock and made worst by the jokey nature of subject. It felt like Absalom was intended to be a foil to Sanji, showing how chivalrous and virtuous his character is as opposed to the more sinister predatory (in both senses) Absalom, but instead it came across as Sanji is better than an assaulter because he only wants to get off by watching unsuspecting naked women while invisible, not force himself. Really curious to hear both of your thoughts on this? Do you think it could have even worked? Additionally, how would you compare Absalom's overt perversion to Hogback's perverted nature? I felt Hogback's creepy perversion was written better, where it was never explicitly stated, but there is a strong implication that is there. So in other words, the Necrophile or the "Hopeless Romantic"?

One Piece arcs so far have always had a component or multiple components of comedy. But this is the first arc that was, by far, as heavily centered around "comedy" as this one. Did you like this kind of more breathing space, more unserious tone coming out from Water 7 & Enies Lobby? And do you think the "comedy" aspect wore off faster and/or didn't always hit because of the anime's pacing during this part of the story?
