This episode i think is what seperates Moria from just being your oridinary villian archtype (I am going to turn you all into my zombie hord and then rule the world, ect) to a character with more nuance for the overarching story. Of course that is the case with most OP characters you just have to get to a certain point in the story to understand who they really are underneith and oda peels back those layers.

Moria is lazy but he knows what he's doing He didn't need to do anything until Oars became loyal to him He also told Oars he can go all out and that the guys in Luffy's crew with a bounty over 100Mil would not be defeated easily or killed Which is also the amount that made Luffy the perfect target for Blackbeard to capture him So he knows ppl like him won't be disposed of like that and would do anything to survive Tells a lot about his experience of the world imo And him joining the fight just made things 10 times worse now lol

Oars fight is probably one of my favorite fights up to this point in the series. It is the first real time you get to see all the straw hats have such collaborative teamwork together. and now Nightmare Luffy makes his debut!
