Fun fact - When Nami says "Our three monsters got captured" is what started the whole fandom calling Luffy, Zoro and Sanji the "Monster trio" <3

Very cool observation about the shadows being followers.

it was the opposite for me. When I was binging I really wanted to catch up to the next 2 big arcs and thought it was dragged out but rewatching after catching up to the manga I really enjoy the comedy. I am able to enjoy it for what it is.
Sanji Joestar
I tried to bounty hunt them once Never again
Ty
not to be that guy but actually michael and hoichael have the greatest bounty we have seen so far at 100 trillion
klairvoyage
iirc the only bounty as high or higher than Luffy's current bounty is Donquixote Doflamingo's former one with $340,000,000 (and Moria's too, but it was left out in the anime)
BOLDcast
apology accepted but I wasn't personally replying to you I was replying to Matthew Gilroy you're good 👍

I'm sorry, ok? I'm really sorry 😭 I really like the thriller bark arc, this is not what I meant. I was just trying to say in good faith, that from Enies Lobby onwards, because of the last anime episode to last manga chapter distance is always shorter, the quantity of chapters per episode adapted will reduce exponentially. (With some exceptions). This is not to criticise the anime, because I perfectly know that it's an unavoidable solution. I was just saying it to them in advance because I was scared that maybe in future arcs the pace could be a real problem. Maybe it was a useless comment, maybe I worded poorly what I was trying to say. Anyway I'm sincerely sorry, also I hope that I didn't spoil anything. To me it doesn't look like I mentioned something I shouldn't have.

I think thriller bark is a great and fun arc for a first time watcher. The problem is rewatching it feel kind of slow. But everyone I’ve shown it to always enjoy this this arc the first time they watch it.

I was going to say something about this because I saw this comment before most, but I didn't want to stir anything. I guess it’s too late for that, so I’ll just say I DETEST comments like this when people say "prepare yourself", that’s like me saying oh btw, "The story falls off of a cliff in the coming episodes, so "prepare yourself" lol. (Not that it does, I’m just using that as an example). I get how some people want to allude and say it in a positive way obviously because of excitement or hype which is still wrong, but I never understood the mindset to pre-empt fans in this way because of something that could cause a detriment to their viewing pleasure, like what is the point of that? Also other comments are taking about pacing related to future arcs, like what are we doing? I see this ALOT in comments in youtube and i just wonder why do you feel the need to remind them about the pacing of the anime or other story elements, rather it be in a positive or negative light. For the record, there is alot to love about thriller bark. If the early story is already this good, that’s a testament to this arc's ability to engage the audience, rather than be comedy, or the setting/aesthetic, or even the intro to another intriguing potential straw hat character, brook; nothing feels like it really impedes or restricts the experience at least in my opinion. Unlike ennies lobby which clearly had some very padded/inconsequential parts to it and you wished the story would just move onto the next piece. I don't think boldcast has had issues like that with this arc yet, of course I am not in their head, but it just seems like they been really enjoying it. So don't let these comments ruin your entertainment of this arc.

Yami = Darkness, Kage = Shadow

I remember the pacing here being slow because it was where I stopped watching it during the original airing of the show. I ended up picking it up again during the Pandemic and watching from there ,but I was in so much of a hurry that I fast forwarded through most of this arc because of the pacing and I wanted to get to the "New World". Now I'm watching it again and I actually am enjoying it. Pacing is slow, but Brook is such a great character.

He has been invited to the discord 100 times he doesn’t want to join. Just wish people could be normal in the comments
BOLDcast
I mean brother we haven’t seen the show We have a spoiler channel on discord for this that is super active that me and Lindsay can’t see
Kyouki
Makes sense, if he didn’t recognize Sanji from his poster, he didn’t know his bounty so had no reason to give him a particularly strong body.
EOussama
JUSTICE OF KUMACY!!!
EOussama
Is this Oda comparing Sanji underestimators to Lazy ahh Moria?
Gino
Why don't just follow the law
Matthew Gilroy
It's the One Piece police. Everyone scram!😬

My gut tells me that people wouldn't make comments like this so freely about story elements, because they are obviously spoilers, But given some of the comments I've seen recently I know that isn't the case. Talking about something that is happening in the current episode they are on (whether that be the pacing or something pertaining to the story) and then confirming that it continues to happen in the future is a form of spoiler called leading expectations. Especially if we start to get specific, going so far as to name arcs. I know Carson himself is relatively lax about these types of "vague" comments, but they really are unnecessary just like Tope said.
Extra Crispy
Right *spoilers* sabody is breakneck pace relative to normal one piece on a rewatch I actually couldn’t believe how quick everything happened.
Lūthér Hölâyèãhmé
The current pacing is similar to Water 7. The pacing dosen't really get bad until much later on with a particular arc.
Mo za
That's a dad
Matthew Gilroy
The pacing was already slow during Sea Train and Enies Lobby. Should be fine
Nicolas LeBlanc
Kage bunshin no jutsu or shadow clone technique
Tope
Personally, I find the entirety of the next saga decently-paced. Also I never understand why people make comments like these. Is it to preempt them saying it themselves? Do people think them knowing about pacing slowdowns ahead of time will make it more tolerable? Idk I just don't see the point. They'll notice it when it happens just like the rest of us. I know people want to maximize their enjoyment of the show, but I always find this comment a bit unnecessary.
AJ
I actually dont remember Thriller Bark to be this fun especially at the beginning of the arc. however in this ep I could see the pacing started to slow down a bit.
apathy
Right I too mixed it up lol. I’ll replace the K with Y.
JManuelRM
Yami Yami*
Super Novice
Depends on the arc. Some Are very slow, other upcoming arcs are action packed so they go quickly
apathy
Blackbeard’s fruit is Yami Yami no Mi. Moria’s is Kage Kage no Mi.
Albanese
I guess you noticed it by now, but from now on the pace of the anime is really slow, for obvious reasons. And it will get worse. Prepare yourself
Sanji Joestar
Like Dogguin mentioned his body was too weak to follow with his strength, interesting how he was still compared to a general zombie with that
Sanji Joestar
For some reason, the anime left out Moria's introduction text box from the manga, when the 'Three Phantoms' arrive in the room. It goes as follow: Gecko Moria One of the Seven Warlords of the Sea Former Bounty: 320 Million Berries Motto: Rely on others Favorite Line: ''YOU do it.'' As he tells them ''Hurry up and make me the Pirate King!"
Jeremy
Y’all weren’t lying about being on the grind 👌🏽
Sanji Joestar
At 11:55 was born the term the Fandom uses to refer to the trio of Luffy, Zoro and Sanji MONSTER TRIO ! (Kaibutsu Sannin)
Sanji Joestar
For clarification Blackbeard has the Dark Dark Fruit/Yami Yami no Mi While Moria has the Shadow Shadow Fruit/Kage Kage no Mi
