That was 12 years ago and I haven't gone to the manga yet XD I've taken multiple hiatuses from One Piece so that I could binge episodes on my return and the impact has never lessened for me. I doubt a day or 2 will have any impact on them.

I searched the dates when these episodes were aired https://i.imgur.com/SUjeEx5.png (spoiler free btw) that was rough... but in 2006, people outside Japan were'nt hooked to One Piece yet, more are into Naruto that I just only have one college classmate that was also into One Piece... I'm glad that when I binged this in 2006, the current episode I recall back then was 288... and then I can't help myself that I started reading the manga after that lol

I really loved the speculation, especially where we are currently in the manga. It really goes to show how crazy the worldbuilding of One Piece gets when 15+ years old discussions can be still very relevant.

I believe Clover did say it. But it was muted for us, the viewer. I think because he said something correct, that the elder gave him the order to kill him and everyone there.

Man, we got so close to the name of the kingdom, for Clover to have been shot just as he was about to say it, it must hold a huge meaning and probably even solve half of the mysteries about the Void Century. The kingdom lost because several countries allied against it, and we know from previous episodes than the World Government is an organization affiliated with 170 countries, no either all of these 170 countries and some of them existed in that alliance against the kingdom, it should tell you how powerful and it was in comparison.
