One thig that is not makes very evident is that, even if he is a great shot, I feel like Ussop still doesn't see himself as a sniper at this point. I mean, he is actually really good, but I guess that, even when he calls himself a sniper or something of the sort, he mean it as another one of his lies. But you're right, in the end of the day it all boils down to his lack of confidence.

The Mole Woman says "ba" as a shortened form of "baka". She constantly tries to talk faster than her lips can move, so she'll often shorten words that are already short enough. That's why sometimes it can seem like she's almost speaking her own weird language. It's just her trying to say what's on her mind in the fastest way possible. And of course that's in comedic contrast to Mr. 4's absurdly slow...everything.

Oda never originally showed how Usopp bought those goggles. He just had them on at one point in the manga in Logue Town. It was later in a spin-off novel where Oda wrote the whole Daddy Masterson story to explain what "wasn't shown" in the manga & the anime later adapted it. So technically it's canon but folks call it filler cause it wasn't in the manga.

I'm sure that was Oda's intention at the time, but I don't think Usopp fighting a giant mole person is a coincidence

This is another case of Usopp's powers of prophecy. He told Klahadore he was searching for a legendary giant mole in the mansion
