someone in another reactor's comment space astutely pointed out the parallelism with journey to the west, Gojo & Toji reenacting sun wukong & buddha : - toji being an outcast and baring his fangs at the heavens (the jujutsu society), even calling himself a monkey to add to the parallelism - gojo symbolizing buddha reaching enlightenment, even quoting him (through heaven and earth, i alone, am the honored one). In the story of Journey to the west, only Budddha could stop sun wukong rampage by showing him he's one with the universe

This episode was soo good!! I saw this quote on twitter that says at the end of this episode Gojo got Tojiยดs blessing (megumi) and Geto got Tojis curse (the worm). - Mapa really had us clapping along to a murderous religeous cult during the opening song. -After Riko's death we can finally understand why present Gojo is so interested in protecting Yuji and Yuta (both kids sentenced to death by the higher ups), and why the idea of youth being stolen from kids upsets him so much after what happened to them and Riko. Great reaction as always guys!!

yeah I've been corrected on that, that just complicated him even more I think (in a good way). He didn't go from bad guy to good guy, but he did go from evil guy to flawed abused guy who still doesn't have an excuse for his flaws

At 37:00 wouldn't that be Megumi's mom? In ep 3 of this season we see what Toji looked like in the past when he was checking out Gojo Jr. and he is still beefy. also their hair is slightly different; with tojis being flat and droopy, and the moms hair being more spikey at its top similar to megumi. Also we know he loves his wife with him taking her name, so her appearing in his last dying reflections makes sense.
