This isn't Luffy's awakening. This is his observation haki improving such that he can see slightly ahead into the future too.

One resemble I just want to point out its that Luffy got his fist hurt like Doflamingo hit the G4 fists back in Dressrosa. Haki coating has several levels of hardening, in this case Katakuri's are stronger than Luffy's. Btw garchu!

The sight was trully suprising since Katakuri for a second doesnt seemed threatening, seeing him without his haki then Luffy can beat him felt odd… but also i find him likeable after this point😭

katakuri got hit by luffy because he was losing his cool since everyone saw him laying on his back and eating doughnuts with his oddly shaped mouth. observation haki requires the user to be calm and level headed. especailly future sight.

I feel like in another lifetime Chopper and Katakuri would be best friends with their love of sweets 😭😭😭. Also my favorite doughnut is an apple cider cake donut from an apple orchard near my town!
