🕑 Added 2021-07-20 03:46:45 +0000 UTCTook a little bit to get dialed back in. Gave Clip Studio and Krita a go, but I just couldn't get along with their tools. Went back to CS6 just cause it's what I had on hand (and have been using for the last 10+ years). Got a copy of the latest version of CC the other day, and it still has some quirks and new features I'm figuring out.
Anyway, tallied up your responses to the request concepts and drew what seemed to be the most popular. Some things changed between what I had originally written out as my ideas for these, which I guess is kind of a window into my process. I don't like requests that are super-duper detailed because it kinda ends up feeling a bit too limiting on my creativity. If you guys gave me detailed concept ideas, angles, poses, framing, etc like that, I would feel painted into a corner when it comes to drawing it, and probably just wouldn't pick it. An idea that I think might work out well, like the Maren/Raine one, I just don't like it so much in practice and I want to re-approach it. Same basic concept of the two of them on all fours, side by side, but doing something a bit more interesting with it. Likewise the Ivy/Flora one, just wasn't quite going how I wanted, made some changes to Flora's position, changed the angle/view of Ivy to be a little more dynamic. I don't think the FutaKat/Natani one was working at all, so I went to 5th place with the Kat/FutaKat idea.
I need to turn these concepts into proper sketches, and get back to making headway on the Makwa & Kian Comic. Maybe next month, we'll try this again, but I'll do a proper poll after I pick and think through some of the requests, see which of the top 8 or 10 or something you guys want to see.
