yh itachi was 13 when he killed the clan. And yh the uchiha vs village stuff started waay earlier after hashirama died tobirama became the 2nd hokage and rounded up the uchiha and isolated them to the edge of the village, while also under surveillance and up until hiruzen, but after the 9 tails incident danzo sneakily isolated them with the approval of every other clan under the false pretense of "having training grounds".

Itachi failing to do things by himself is why it hit harder for me when he was telling naruto to never forget others and to never do stuff alone despite your strength being bigger than anyone else. Itachi realized that he tried to make everything right himself and it backfired on him so he reminded naruto to never go in that path
