[SFW!] Krita + Linux Experiments + Future Concerns
🕑 Added 2024-11-30 15:30:48 +0000 UTCI've long debated trying to transition my art style and workflow over to Linux eventually. With Windows systems getting increasingly worse to run on and my want for better privacy as a whole (I'm genuinely surprised at times that this page hasn't gotten nuked by Patreon :/), I find that it's best nowadays to transition to an OS that is a bit more power-user and 'odd'.
Given recent events over the past month having possible negative effects in the future, I also have a genuine want / concern to also protect myself in the future. There might become a time where even this becomes nonviable, and that leaves me worried.
Until such a time comes where I can no longer safely draw what I like, I will however continue to keep doing my best -- and looking out for others who do the same as well.
I apologize if this is a bit heavier than my normal posts -- but I'm genuinely concerned for the safety of others like me at this point.
Please, I hope you continue to keep enjoying.

I've heard advice along the same lines emphasizing securing your safety via privacy. If you're interested, All Things Secured is a good resource for all kinds of ways to being safer online and offline

I have some experience in Linux if you're looking on what Distribution to use.

Been kind of wondering about the future of my Patreon as well, along with the rest of creative expression in this country given, you know, everything. But I guess, don't obey in advance, as they say, and do whatever networking you can, just in case you need to rely on alternative, less official means to deliver your product to your customers.

Just take your time and do whatever feels good to you. Just one plea from my end: If you decide to go somewhere else with your art, please tell us where you go :3
