“That’s right! I, Doomblade, am much more handsome than this Carter guy of yours. Soon I’ll defeat him and claim you lovely ladies as my prize!” I laughed beneath my helmet.
“We’ll see about that!” Sakura swung her club at me, and I neatly sidestepped the incoming blow before grabbing her wrists. She blinked in surprise, not expecting someone so big to dodge so well. I had the benefit of supernatural instincts from my lucky bloodline. I plucked the club from her grip and tossed it aside while she was still in shock.
Sakura was far from done, though. Without a weapon, she was perfectly happy to swing her fists. Twice, she swung for my kneecaps, and twice more, I dodged.
“Pick up your sword and fight me too!” Myrina yelled, waving her sword overhead.
“I, Doomblade, am far too mighty a warrior for you. If I picked up my sword and fought you, I fear your ego would be destroyed. I am far too kind to do such a thing to a pair of fair maidens.” I taunted them.
“Challenge accepted.” Myrina pulled off her scabbard and tossed her sword to the ground. Then she cracked her knuckles and charged me just as Sakura was.
The fight felt a bit odd, considering the towering stature of my armor. I was nearly twice their height. As I understood things, there was some relationship between physical strength and stature, so even though I had a lower strength stat than either of my companions, even with the boost from the armor, I was physically larger, so more of it applied. Such an enormous size was less practical for everyday life, but some people, like Cyra, found the tradeoff worthwhile.
The fistfight between Sakura and Myrina felt a bit like boxing children. And that included cheap shots.
“Take this, asshole!” Sakura yelled, letting out a screaming uppercut right between my armor’s legs. Her club clanged against metal, bending in the codpiece.
“Good god woman, have some decency. I’m just trying to steal you from your boyfriend.” I pretended to wince, though truthfully, I’d been prepared for an attack like this. The admittedly oversized codpiece on my armor was actually just for show, as my real groin was well above that position. The only thing in that space was a ten centimeter thick steel plate. Though I was shocked when I realized that plate now had a massive dent in it.
She shook her hand a few times, like smashing a handprint into enchanted steel only gave her a cramp. I couldn’t press the moment of weakness though, because Myrina was on top of me, and smiling ear to ear as she did so.
She swung one arm, then the other. Her blows looked like wild bar room brawling right up until the moment I thought I spotted an opening. As soon as I swept my arm for her, she spun on her heel and twisted as she jumped until the back of her heel collided with my helmet in a flying kick. I’d seen her use the blow to knock the sense right out of our enemies before finishing them with her sword. Luckily, helmets did wonders for head blows, and I shrugged off the attack to block the follow up punch I knew was coming.
But that left Sakura with room to get in a few free punches. All sensors flared one after another as my defensive enchantments flared to max. My defenses just weren’t meant to hold against a pair of angry C-Grade women, as with each minute that passed, more parts of my armor were failing. If the mechanical components of the suit had been in normal space, they would have already been bent to uselessness. As it was, the occasional spark materialized along my body as the powered exoskeleton tried to force bent steel to move in a direction it didn’t want to.
I didn’t mind though. For all the beating I was taking, things were still comfortable in the armor. It felt a bit like playing a video game, though with considerably more feedback. It was a bit hot inside the suit, but my C-Grade body could take it. It might be uncomfortable for an E-Grade, though, so I’d have to think about some sort of climate control. There wasn’t enough room in here for air conditioning, but maybe I could circulate some sort of cooling fluid?
I took notes in my head, meanwhile the armor itself logged each sub component as it failed one after another. I would have a whole list of upgrades in mind for this thing by the time I was done.
“Bet you’re the kind of guy who catcalls women all the time, huh?” Sakura slammed her fist into my armors guts. Steel chiseled into abs bent and buckled under her fist.
“Only when I see fine ladies like you. Seriously, how does one lucky bastard get all three of you?”
“Carter’s more man than you’ll ever be, Doomblade! Ancestors, what a lame name! You could have been someone cool like ‘The Engine of Destruction!’” Myrina taunted.
“Doomblade is a cool name!” I roared in defiance. I threw them both off of me with a sudden surge of strength.
Both women rolled to their feet a few paces away, circling me warily.
Sakura turned back to Bridget, who had been watching the show and studying my armor from afar.
“Bridget! We need your help to finish this big bastard off,” Sakura waved her forward.
Bridget smiled. “Alright, I guess I can put an end to things. You’ve had your fun, Doomblade?”
“Ha! Three at once? I, Doomblade, take on three women at once every night!”
Sakura rolled to their feet and attacked me again. Meanwhile, Bridget circled me like a tiger stalking her prey. They had victory in their sight. Even without weapons, they were wearing me down and would win sooner or later. It was just a matter of keeping the pressure up. In a real fight, I would have been battling to escape, but right now all I wanted to was good data for the continued improvement of my fancy new power armor.
I found myself engaged in fighting Myrina and Sakura again to such an extend I didn’t notice Bridget pounce until it was too late. She jumped me, wrapping her legs around my helmet and blinding me with an admittedly nice view. With her dagger in hand, she bent her chest over my head. She deftly pried out the hinge bolts holding the back of my armor shut. With two swift motions, the entire back panel of the armor fell right off.
“There we go, girls! Drag him out this silly suit!” Bridget giggled.
The back of my armor sprung open, and I felt cool air and a sense of panic hit me at the same time. I knew I should have put the hinges facing inward, but they were a late addition to the design and I had too much stuff in the way for it. But this was the price I paid for half-assing something.
“You’re a strategic genius, Bridget!” Myrina cackled with delight as she spotted my unprotected back. She grabbed me by the shirt and yanked me clear of the armor and threw me on the ground.
“Alright pal, by the time I’m done with you, you won’t be able to feel your groin for a week!” Sakura raised a boot menacingly as she hovered between my legs.
“Wait, wait!” I yelled, quickly rolling over. Sakura, this is friendly fire!"
“It’s Carter, Sakura,” Bridget explained from behind us. She swung her her legs as she sat over my empty armor’s shoulder with a girlish smile on her lips.
“Huh?” Sakura rolled me over the rest of the way, and her eyes went wide. “Carter! It was you? You were the one trying to steal me... from you...?”
“It was worth a try...” I wheezed. “Imagine if it had succeeded.”
“Asshole.” Sakura nudged me playfully as she flopped down on top of my chest.
“Doomblade is an okay name.” Myrina knelt and patted me on the shoulder.
“For the record, I knew it was Carter as soon as I saw the armor. Nobody else could make something like this.” Bridget rapped the armor on the head.
“You never know, there could be some even more extraordinary enchanter hidden somewhere.” I shrugged.
Bridget shook her head. “But they wouldn’t be as good as you, Carter.”
“Well, we’re pretty much done here. What do you say we head home?” Myrina suggested.
“That sounds like a good idea.” Sakura leered as she looked down at me. “After all, I promised that you wouldn’t be able to feel your groin for a week after this. That’s still going to happen.”

As much as I’d boasted about being able to take on three women at once, it was no easy feat. I wouldn’t have had the strength for it if my companions hadn’t been so damn sexy.

I have an excel table for XP values per level that helps me estimate this kind of stuff, but I'm not sharing the hard numbers. It's just not a great idea as a litrpg author to give your readers hard numbers, since they will catch your math errors eventually!
