🕑 Added 2023-03-23 00:15:52 +0000 UTCSo I told everyone my Katara pic was going to be uploaded today. And my PC was having NONE of it. It's blue screened 7 times since yesterday. It corrupted the Katara file (luckily i backed it up on a thumbdrive before that happened, since I was prepaired for the worst) and now as soon as I do anything intensive on it, it blue screens and restarts. I've tried repairing corrupt system files, I've checked to see if my ram was dying, I've wiped my ssd and re-installed windows, and after re-installing all of the software I need, it started crashing yet again. And the error report inidcates to the issue being a hardware problem. So RIP the iconic IBUYPOWER pc, it lasted me for about 7 years of constant use and it helped me start up my art career. It'll be looking to buy a new PC immediatly since I NEED one to get work done. But just know, the Katara pic will definitely not be ready by today.

That sucks... but I'm impressed your PC lasted 7 years. And considering that and your descriptions, it does sound like a hardware failure. Probably the processor if I had to guess.

would it be reasonable to take it to a shop and try to diagnose which part is defective?

Definitely keep them close at hand, I'm assuming you will look for another PC from iBuyPower, or CyperPowerPC, definitely get yourself a good quality PC!

I wiped my drives and did a fresh re-install. Sadly all the error codes lead to a hardware issue. It sucks but hey, it is what it is. Hopefully in the future I can find some secondary use for it. It's still got some good components for sure that can be reused.

That would require me buying parts to replace the ones in it, and the pieces i suspect to be faulty are either the motherboard, the ram, or the CPU. Ordering all of those and testing them out would just be a waist of time. I've decided to just order a new one, and should I get my old one working again, I'll use it as a NAS or something.

Bummer bro! from how you describe the issue it seems you've tried your best. What about system restoration? perhaps to see if a specific update passed through that is causing the blue screen? Anything related to Windows Updates potentially.
Damn sad to see it go. 7 years is pretty good though. Maybe consider troubleshooting and replacing anything that's damaged instead of buying a new pc.
