Could keep my Azarinth magic the way it is, which may be nice. But it sounds like I’d actually want to manage the Sentinels directly. And all of that influencing, wars, kings stuff is just not for me.

Few choose the cursed path of the Hunters, fewer even are not of Elven descent. There was a lot of diversity, even a glorious knight option. But Ilea didn’t ponder long on the decision, a grin on her face as she selected her choice.

“Hold the fuck up, I do not age… tripled?” she whispered to herself. “Holy shit.” She checked and the bonus applied after the one coming from Meditation. Which meant she could currently hold 105’000 points of mana. That’s eternal for fucking sure.

[Absolute Destruction] becomes [Archon Strike]
Active: Archon Strike – 3rd lvl 30:
Send a destructive pulse of mana into your enemy with every attack using your arms, fists, fingers, legs, or head. Your Intelligence stat enhances the damage potential.
2nd stage: The amount of mana used per strike can be regulated with a maximum of 1000 mana per strike. You may charge each strike with 1000 mana per second to a maximum of 5000 mana.
3rd stage: You may choose to use Archon Strike as a non intrusive attack, instead sending a wave of destructive healing onto your enemy. Due to the healing nature of Archon Strike it partially ignores protection against Mana intrusion.

Ilea read through the description, her eyes going wide when she reached the second tier. From a hundred to a thousand? And am I getting this right, I can charge it whilst moving now?
The wave change of the third tier would have to be tested but she welcomed the versatility. With the hundred percent to healing, she would pack a ridiculous punch with Archon Strike. Or a ridiculous finger, apparently.
She giggled to herself, eliciting stares from her companions searching the cavern, still burning the remains.

2nd stage: The time between transfers is reduced greatly. No ground contact needed between transfers. Upon arrival, you may use up to 500 mana to create an arcane explosion damaging enemies and disrupting magical constructs and spells.
3rd stage: You may set three destinations you touch. You may change each destination once per week [32.43h]. You may travel to each destination once every day [4.63h].

That’s a fucking upgrade… the five hour timer is still annoying but I can go north without using the gates now. Wish I had that a few years back. Or in Erendar. Perceive everything in a sphere around you while this skill is activated. The higher the level the further the dominion reaches.
2nd stage: Arcane dominion opens your senses to the arcane. A paramount skill both on and off the battlefield. Elements and spells you control within your dominion have increased harmony.
3rd stage: You may use Sentinel Reconstruction on all beings within your dominion.

Ilea whistled. That third tier, damn. Hard to say how the harmony change will be in practice. Can’t say I used the previous third tier much. Hmm, was somewhat easy to heal people with my ash already but I suppose it’s helpful nonetheless.
[Azarinth Fighting] becomes [Eternal Brawling]
Passive: Eternal Brawling – 3rd lvl 30:
You have adapted the fighting style of the Azarinth school to something you now call your own. Damage inflicted with your own body and related skills is 110% [990%] higher. Your arms, fists, fingers, legs, and head deal a slight amount of arcane damage with each strike.
2nd stage: Getting used to fighting in close quarters, your reaction time is increased to accommodate your increasing speed and control. Your bones are steeped with mana, increasing both their weight and resilience two fold.
3rd stage: Eternal Brawling consists of more than offense alone. A true brawler knows when to stand and let an enemy strike. You gain knowledge about sustained injuries and damage from incoming attacks as they happen.

A slight amount of damage? What the fuck does that mean? Stronger bones is nice too, but the weight is getting more and more ridiculous. I don’t ever want to use scales again.
[Sentinel Huntress] becomes [Eternal Huntress]
Passive: Eternal Huntress – 3rd lvl 30
Huntress turned Eternal. Your eyes are unmatched and so is your nose. Perceive the smallest irregularities in your surroundings as well as the ambient mana to find clues about your target’s whereabouts. Perceive the trails of dangerous prey.
2nd stage: You gain a sense for the distress in the people around you. Amplify this by sacrificing mana. You gain a sense for the arcane, feeling even minor spells around you. As you practice to differentiate these spells, you will learn of their intent.
3rd stage: Through Azarinth magic, you may mark an enemy or ally with the Eternal Mark. Allies may use the mark to send a short message to the Arcane Eternal once per day. The Arcane Eternal can send a short message to each non forcefully applied mark once per day. Each level in the third tier adds two additional marks that can be used. Marks forcefully applied have a limited duration.

Interesting. So I can tell when someone is starting to cast a spell? Better than just my sphere, I mean dominion? Oh… the part about dangerous prey might be worth a closer inspection. Are all my marks now Eternal Marks or do I have to reapply them?

Passive: Eternal Sight – 3rd lvl 30:
Increases your perception and reflexes while fighting. To keep up with your faster moving body, the Arcane Eternal has to control it.
2nd stage: Eternal Sight is activated for two seconds, should you be about to receive a blow that would take 50% or more of your health, or should your mind be incapacitated with an incoming blow. This can happen only once per hour.
3rd stage: Your resilience and speed is doubled during the spike in perception. Increases usage to thrice per hour. Spend at static 25% of your mana to increase the effect of Eternal Sight by one second.

Didn’t know I wanted this, but I do. Got my brain smashed again today. Next time I might as well know before I get smashed. Or is it just for mind magic stuff? The requirement has changed too, seventy five percent to fifty. Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing, though even the four marks I fought recently didn’t activate it.
[Azarinth Reversal] becomes [Arcane Circulation]
Passive: Arcane Circulation – 3rd lvl 30:
You have learned of Archon Strike and Sentinel Reconstruction. Now you will learn of their Reversal.
Upon activation, Archon Strike will send a part of the struck enemy’s mana into yourself. No mana will be released on impact, rendering Archon Strike’s offensive potential to zero.
Upon activation, Sentinel Reconstruction will send a destructive force of channeled mana into yourself or an enemy you touch, the healing aspects are reduced to zero.
2nd stage: You may have both the original and reversed aspects activated at the same time. When an enemy partially or fully resists either Archon Strike or Sentinel Reconstruction, you absorb the dissipating mana.
3rd stage: Healing, power, resilience and speed. All requires balance. Your respective Destruction and Reconstruction spells have their potency increased by a static 25% of your lowest stat. [112.5%]. You may channel health in addition to mana into the respective offensive uses of Archon Strike and Sentinel Reconstruction.

No clue how much the second tier will change but the health aspect is powerful. Will the cost be the same? I suppose I could pack more of a punch with a few attacks but my resources are quite different by now.

I only see her endurance being a problem. Her strength and dexterity are boosted by her auras and skills, but her stamina is becoming limiting against opponents who can last longer. Even though she has a couple of skills to help that.

She does not need to breath any more, oxygen repo 2nd level. She gets weaker at some point, but she does not die any more without oxygen. Maybe 3rd level of that skill even removes that "getting weaker" issue and she can stop breathing.

More seriously, I do like the changes, w/o getting into the details, in that they really change the flavor from an Az Healer to something that surpasses the old org and focuses on her choosing her own path. All the name changes and flavor text (more so than the % details) imply a whole new path forward at a higher power level/greater degree of autonomy...which has consistently been her thing (along w/ body enhancement, healing, and resistances as her way to enable that autonomy/freedom).

Dude, "Archon (Greek: ἄρχων, romanized: árchōn, plural: ἄρχοντες, árchontes) is a Greek word that means "ruler"". Straight from wiki. I think it sounds awesome as it is.
If it is even possible to do, it is far too risky. Ilea does not know how any of those skills might change with the evolution, or even if she might replace one or more of the skills after the evolution. She could end up wasting many core points. She should pick one or two of her Arcane Eternal skills to enhance now as a test case, and then after she sees how that works, she can decide whether to continue and enhance all the skills for that class. Besides, it would be extremely difficult to level all 10 skills back up to 3rd lvl 30 without gaining 7 levels in Kin of Ash.

I would prefer the name "Arcane Strike" to "Archon Strike". Except for an obscure usage from an ancient religious sect, archon just refers to a kind of government official. So the name sounds silly. And "archon" is close enough to "arcane" that it is confusing as well as silly. Prime Minister Strike! Cower in fear for the Prime Minister is going to get you, right after his chief of staff gets the results from the public opinion poll, and his press secretary writes a scathing speech about you! Changing the name to "Arcane Strike" would be a big improvement.

By that i meant without the need to poop and pie, or to have a sip of water, and what is the natural regeneration of mana? Does she get like two percent per (some amount of time) if so does she get a lot of mana mid battle, without her various draining and absorbing abilities? As a base! Useful if she will get to fight pure physical mobs and hordes where she can’t get mana back

Comment I haven't seen yet: time magic seemed really dangerous and fucky - it seems like Illea will be safe from most of those effects if they do not ruin her ability to breathe. It might be a bad situation but she can survive that sort of trap now.

People are really hating on the new Monstrous skill but I think the point of it is to just keep the rabble from seeing she' s a 3 mark and flipping out when she's walking down the street. There aren't a whole lot of people above level 250 and she probably wont stay at 500 for long so within 6 months to a year very few people will even be able to identify her as a 3 mark.

3rd tier Meditation mattered. Ilea needed 25,000 mana for The Arcane Eternal, meaning she would need 2,500 Wisdom without the 3rd tier of Meditation.
That's not how it works. Meadow said that Ilea can only improve one skill to 4th-tier per class, and first she has to enhance every single skill (presumably every single skill in the class).
Arcane Dominion may be a good candidate for testing skill enhancement. It already had the 3rd stage somewhat diminished by taking away one of the abilities of her Sentinel Sphere (which the class description said was not supposed to happen...), and while finally being able to heal without touch is nice, Ilea already could essentially do that already using clouds of ash. So if skill enhancement improves the 3rd stage of a skill, then Arcane Dominion should be a prime candidate. She should be able to rapidly level it up again, too.
I think Arcane Circulation my be the weakest skill in the Arcane Eternal class. Since Archon Strike 3rd-stage includes destructive healing, the reversed healing of Arcane Circulation is largely redundant. The reversed Archon Strike is basically a mana drain skill, but with Ilea's increased mana she does not have an urgent need for that. Having regular healing and destructive healing active at the same time never made sense. Having Archon Strike and its reverse active at the same time is moderately useful since the strikes can partially or fully pay for themselves by draining mana. But even that has its value reduced with Ilea's high mana and regen now. The third stage boosts her Archon Strike and Sentinel Reconstruction spells, but it is a static bonus not helped by body enhancement. Allowing the use of health instead of mana for Archon Strike and Reconstruction is a bit of a wild card. It depends on how potent the skills are with health instead of mana. They would need to be very potent to justify using health instead of mana considering Ilea has a lot more mana than health now. Although her instant healing can convert mana to health at a favorable ratio. Mana arbitrage anyone? Anyway, the point I am slowly getting to is that I wonder if any new skills have become available that Ilea could use to replace Arcane Circulation. If not, it might be one of the first candidates for enhancement. Reducing to 3rd lvl 1 should not have much impact, and if enhancement improves the 3rd stage of the skill, that would be great. Maybe it can take off the static boost and make it subject to body enhancement. So instead of boosting Archon Strike and Reconstruction by 112.5%, it could boost them by a factor of 9 (800%) from body enhancement. Or more, if the boost increases as the skill levels from 3rd lvl 1 to 3rd lvl 30.

I think the big opportunity would be to focus on one 3rd tier. If she could reset it to improve it. Level it back up and repeat. She could end up breaking it into the 4th tier, or just make it insane. If she could get a skill to increase in power based on her total mana or highest stat...
Indirectly, her tripled mana (and more than tripled mana regeneration) will enhance her survivability since more mana means she can heal herself more times, and it also means she can stay phaseshifted longer. As for more direct help, I think there are at least two significant improvements. One is Eternal Sight now activates the perception spike if an incoming blow will take away her mental faculties. That is important since the most likely way to kill her is to destroy her brain and then keep it from regenerating while they continously attack her body until she is out of health and mana. If she can avoid the initial head strike in the first place, her survivability goes up. The second direct improvement is her dominion. She has improved awareness in her dominion, and presumably her dominion is now larger than it was as her sphere, and Huntress gives her a sense for even minor spells around her which should help her with subtle or sneak attacks against her.

The new class bonuses are nice but they do not seem to enhance her ability to survive by much at all. Which I think is by far Ilea's greatest strength.
Ilea should be sure to pick up that mace for Gael (or keep it for herself). Even if it does not have any fancy momentum magic, it is still hyper durable if it is strong enough to club through Ilea's armor, skin, and bones without falling apart.
Actually her new class should be vitality +80 so that the 1550 vitality is correct. :-) And yes, he forgot to increase the multiplier for Body of the Valkyrie. Her health pool should be 30'070 (1550*10*1.94)

I have found that if I start reading something when there are only a couple chapters I am far more likely to abandon it or just never get into it properly. Thanks for all the chapters! I just want to point out two potential mistakes, though. First, shouldn't her Vitality be only 1520, since her new class gives +50 and the old one gives +30? Second, her new 400% bonus to Body Enhancement should also make the HP increase percentage from Body of the Valkyrie 94%, making her HP 29488 (1520*10*1.94). Hope I didn't miss anything that explains that.

Im kind of sad only one of her 3d Tier Geneal Skills made a difference. Meditation, Veteran, Defiant of Humanity etc, didn't matter Azarinth Sentinel felt like a higher Tier upgrade. Maybe if she had 15 resistances. Then again its the ash class thats about the resistances. I also still like her new class and it gives her many things she needed or wanted. I feel like there was only one real choice here though and the others were just fill ins. Which is a little bit boring. The Astral one was powerful especially considering her 3d class but not realy truly tempting. Then again Harthame released a ton of chapters just now and im realy glad he did. The core skill point options are interesting. I feel like doing the general skill thing once, getting the best one and seeing how good it is, might be a good idea. The skill reset is realy strong though especially considering 4th tier skills. Im looking at Healing and Core here. Maybe Blink.

That's a good point. It's quite a stretch to think of her even as just a battle healer anymore. If you really boil it down, the Azarinth are essentially mages to begin with. They just happen to specialize their arcane powers towards healing and self augmentation. All of their abilities are built from an arcane base. Now she has refined and evolved her class towards it's increasingly arcane core aspects I'm not sure she will still show up as a healer.

I read that as per location, so if she wants to do a triangle trip and takes two hours at each location she could keep that up indefinitely.
My guess is that it does something to the third-tier of the skill to make it better, and the penalty is that you have to level it up again from 3rd lvl 1 to 3rd lvl 30.
I vote for Arcane Healer. Since Arcane Eternal is still a body enhancement and healer class, I think Arcane Healer best describes her. The new class still has the same skills, and it provides a 300% boost to healing skills, so it would be surprising if she is no longer a healer.

She might not be able to enhance skills until the class hits 500 (remember there are hidden requirements for advancing class skills to 3rd tier and the like).
Potentially it is her Transfer skill. We do not know the range, but it specifically says "distant place" which to me suggests the range may now be thousands (or even millions) of times what it was at Blink (which was less than 100 meters).

Honestly she should use her skill enhancement on all her ash class skills if it's allowed, might offer an even better evolution. Also, the general skill derivative looks really useful, use it on the azarinth fighting and learn the hand to hand general skill to get a small boost. Edit: didn't pay attention to the "enhance skill by resetting to lvl 1" although honestly she should still do it but I doubt she nor us readers has the patience to train up the skills before her ash class evolves.

I think its even more broken then that as most 2nd or 3rd stage skills have multiplicative bonuses imagine getting the 3rd tier healing skill giving her an additional 300%? healing and negative healing apply the same to body reinforcement magic, ash magic, fire/heat/fire of creation magic, and astral. at that point shes used 15-21 skill points plus time to boost all her ability's buy 4 times .

I was thinking about that, and I doubt it. If you look at the percentage enhancements, she is getting 400% body enhancement and 300% healing magic enhancement. No enhancement at all for arcane magic. So it would be a stretch for the class to be considered a mage class. Although I think the name of the class should have been Arcane Healer to better represent what the class is about.

So I was thinking about this: [Derivative General Skill] – [Learn a General skill based on frequently used Class techniques – Cost: 3] And while it doesn't add a lot for most of Illea's skills because using her class skills will be better, it occurs to me that Teleportation is 1) something she does frequently for multiple classes, and 2) even if greatly limited, having a third instant movement option is going to be super useful against difficult enemies, as shown per the recent fights vs four marks.

She got a larger multiple on her healing spells, and can now heal without physical contact. But she could already instantly full heal by dumping mana, so a larger mana pool means she can do that 3x as often. Intelligence +100 (Stronger spells) Wisdom +200 (More sustain) All healing magic skills are improved by 300% Your mana capacity is tripled 3rd stage: You may use Sentinel Reconstruction on all beings within your dominion. And don’t forget mana regeneration is percentage based so that’s also up by over 3x.

Man there were some genuinely interesting classes there, and some genuinely shit ones. Shoutout to Monster of the North for being the most obviously bad (if still really interesting) and mothertrucking space wizard for being incredibly tempting looking even if our Ilea is already spoiled by having nearly as exotic a damage type already (though seriously, imagine upgrading a generic fire mage or something to that class - you'd go from "everyone has the resistance" to "few have even heard of it"). Though if she was right it would negativity effect her healing ability... Oof. That would completely end her ability to fight as aggressively as she did to reach 500 in the first place. And, you know, boo to all the classes that implied she'd want to run or conquer kingdoms, haha. Not saying they're bad, just DO NOT WANT.

Although it is easy to lose it amongst all the flashy power upgrades, one of the biggest take always from this class upgrade is she is now immortal. llea will never grow old or die from the passage of time. Short term that doesn't seem like much but a few hundred years down the road that's huge.

So good chapter Still waiting she finnaly get a lot of her res to tier 2 A lot of them are easy easy to get (4-5 days) And with how some of the bonus she get with other tier 2 res i dont understand why she dont have taken the little time to get them (its obvious easy upgrade for her who maybe can influence her class evo too (+8 tier 2 res) and if not give her juicy bonus who give her net little power up. - Dust Magic Resistance – lvl 6 (the guy is in sentinel i think so train easy) - Flesh Magic Resistance – lvl 9 (think with her connection in shadown and sentinel she can train this easy) - Gold Magic Resistance – lvl 1 (this is one she cant really train) - Silver Magic Resistance – lvl 1 (same) - Obsidian Magic Resistance – lvl 3 - Ruby Magic Resistance – lvl 14 - Sapphire Magic Resistance – lvl 13 - Topaz Magic Resistance – lvl 18 ( all of them she get them in a few hours in the dungeon cave with the golem) she go down 2 days in for get all of them in tier 2 im sure some of the bonus give her bone more durability (and aniway its upgrade her ash armor) - Sound Magic Resistance – lvl 18 (was a shadown who have the magic) - Vine Magic Resistance – lvl 14 (i dont remember it but i think it a guy/girl with was with the boys with the dust magic so maybe in sentinel now?) So yeah except silver and gold she can get +8 tier 2 easy and maybe more (new sentinel and shadown people so maybe new magic) with not time consuming with her op skill (just some days) So i dont remenber how many bonus she get for each tier 2 but it was a lot and on 2 different skill i think (maybe more than +5% but +5%X8 is 40% more durability/density on her ash minimal, its HUGE

I was not expecting to get 6 chapters in this today but I loved it. Aside from the astral evolution this is the best of the bunch. Not going to lie with some of the classes like the wayfarer and the astral I would be tempted to boldly go into the final frontier. I would not want to loose all of the body enchantments that goes with it though so this was the best choice. 3 of the skills did not evolve with the class evolution and I concur that Sentinel Core should have been one of them given the class description. Given the encounter in the dungeon I want her to find more info on the order in the coming chapters. I wonder what those two locked options for core points are? Since generating a derivative general skill can supplement skill abilities and gives 70 skill levels of advancement for only 3 core points as opposed to 30 skill levels for 5 core points by enhancing an existing skill I think that should be her first move but that both should be done. Plus shouldn't she have been able to choose one passive and active skill to advance to fourth level or am I misremembering that. Fantastic work see you next time and happy holidays. Edit: I forgot to say I loved the Dark souls reference. I don't think I have beaten this boss without using the exploit.

The Class change brought her 20 vit 70 Int 180 Wis -> 54 Level of stats, +100% increase in Body enhancement and healing and not age and triple mana.
I don't feel like looking up the actual quote but my memory is something along the lines of "you have to fully enhance all skills of a class, then you can upgrade one to 4th tier." I think it was part of her original talks with Meadow. That would imply that even if you can enhance a single skill multiple times, there is a limit of some sort. Enhancing each skill once would be the obvious restriction, with maybe a second enhancement unlocking at 1,000?

I remember that getting to 200 for any class slows down aging, healers specifically age even slower, with fewer physical changes. 300 + basically gives you at least a 1000 years. Now its no longer even a factor, my only take away is that Ilea can now use the word "mortal" as a sick burn

I'd imagine it has to do with classes being expressions of her capabilities so if she's changed (become stronger or learned other skills) she will have different upgrade options next time around. In other words, I don't think she will have the same options.

Is it just me or can she enhance skills more than once? She just need to ahave it at 3rd30 and the is no notice of unenhanced in the requirements. I expect the problem is that it's now an 3rd 1 skill for resistance and damage calculations. So the skill mighthave stronger potential, but actualey be weeker afther she enhance it. Also she "only" have 80 points and she needs 130 just to enhance all her curent skills (in all 3 classes).

I was initially annoyed at being woken up in the middle of the night and not falling back asleep. Clearly my perception has leveled and triggered as it detected an anomaly to your posting schedule! I loved the fight with the Terror, it was a good break from stomping on those Bluetails. The evolutions were fun to go through too. On one hand I'd have like to see a few more options but on the other, it would probably have been too much. Glad there's still the Ash and maybe Space classes left. Thanks and Merry Christmas! Now back to sleep (though the sun has risen).

I guess getting a (somewhat useful out of combat skill like force, or storage) as generel skill to free up a skill point in one of her main classes should be nice. A lot to unpack here. First - the class she picked wasn't the last one on the list? Is this really an Azarinth Healer story? It's cool though that she's transcended the original order and is making it her own. On skills: Transfer - the third tier text is ambiguous, I wonder if the 5 hour cooldown is for the skill or per location. Eternal Brawling - 110% [880%] - she has +800% Body Enhancement now for a 9x multiplier, should be 990%. Eternal Sight - yet another weakness removed now that it triggers based on her mind being taken out, and not just on health percentages. New core skill uses! Skill Enhancement brings back the grind. Derivative General Skill seems like it may have a ton of potential but we’ll have to see how it works in practice.
