I've never understood this comparison to be honest. Other than both shows being about rag-tag crews doing not exactly legal stuff, I just don't see the connection between Firefly and One Piece.

Yes Kemi!! It is definitely worth the watch and all the little nuances are there as well. Nothing has ever made me cry as much. Im gonna start working on that script very very soon

I read OP a looong time ago but just started the anime from the beginning a few weeks back! It's without a doubt one of the most famous stories in Japan for a reason. Don't be daunted by the length people! Would love to see a video on the comparison to Firefly because I can totally see it!

But Firefly lives on for 2 more hours in the movie Serenity! I don't think you've mentioned it once...we're dying to know! Serenity, It's really like the true finale. Are we planning to slot Serenity in a movie slot? Or watch it as the true finale of Firefly...in the last firefly spot? Cuz its probably about the same length as a double firefly (two episodes). It's so good! Much, much excited!!! 😃

I've never watched any anime, but I feel like I would probably like it - thanks for the recommendation! I also have heard that Firefly was maybe inspired by or at least has a lot of similar characteristics to another anime series called Cowboy Bebop, from the late 90s. I haven't watched, but I've heard it's really good.
