Because there are "previously on Hannibal" scenes from Oeuf that open Coquilles which Prime streaming shows as Episode 4 it causes some confusion. On both DVD and the paid downloads of Hannibal, the Episode order is Oeuf as number 4 and Coquilles as Number 5. The stories themselves are not ruined if you view them in either order but it is best to be warned about the "previously on scenes". In 2013 Bryan was concerned that the recent Sandy Hook school shooting would affect viewer enjoyment of the themes in Oeuf, which is why the NBC never aired it.

I'm in the UK and eps 4 and 5 were broadcast in the correct order. If I remember correctly, there was an incident in the US around the time ep 4 was due to air so it was decided to pull it from the scheduled broadcast (ep 4 was then available to watch later online).

The person who told you that about the Hannibal episodes was incorrect. Episode 4, Oeuf, did not air per a request by Bryan Fuller due to thematic reasons. It became available to watch online after the airing of episode 5, Coquilles, but they are definitely meant to be watched in the order they are numbered.
