Our much beloved ๐๐ฎ... may I please ask a quick question? Sorry to bother you, but I just learned something potentially interesting regarding a subject we discussed in the past. I was reading that HBO has just given a release date for Season 2 of 'The Last of Us' -- Spring of 2025!!! (eeek! So excited!!) But the point is, I expect, relatively soon, certainly within the next couple months, HBO will start the advertising blitz for Last of Us season 2 . No doubt the ads will look AMAZING and bring a lot of attention back to this series. I can only imagine, if timed correctly, a fresh reaction to Season 1... (just as people are starting to foam at the mouth for season 2) ...would be very welcome on YouTube. There hasn't been any good new reactions to Season 1 in a while. I loved your reaction to episode one, and I swear the show gets soooo much better (episode 1 was great but it was very faithful to the game...once you get to episode 3 and beyond, it's much meatier, so to speak). There are phenomenal episodes which aren't in the game...tons of fodder for your brand of layered, thoughtful reactions. Okay...sorry to take your time but I saw "spring 2025" and thought... I better tell ๐๐ฎ immediately!!! ๐น๐๐น Thank you so much for your time! โคโคโค

It's funny, I actually only came around to the theatrical lotr as equally good to the extended in the last couple of years. Mostly because I learned how much easier it is to get people into the theatrical ones with the tighter editing.

The multiple versions thing always trips me up. Especially if I initially see one version, then subsequently see another version which (no matter the quality) messes me up. It can ruin the movie experience for me. It did with Lord of the Rings AND The Descent. But then I'm old...I don't have time for all those versions ;)

No...but for the #2 spot? Umm, I'm not invested in those tech folks so maybe that's why. No doubt the quality of the movie is great. Can't go wrong with Fincher (check out Zodiac!). Also, another banger of a soundtrack. I'm a fan of Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor so you can't go wrong with these guys either ;)

This was a no-brainer for me as Blade Runner is one of my top movies of all time. I second the other commenter that the Final Cut Is the one to acquire if possible (there are major differences).

If it does end up being blade runner, it should be noted there's multiple cuts out there (theatrical, director, final cut, etc). I think the general consensus is the final cut is good for your first time watching it, and I would definitely recommend it as well. Afaik it's the one Ridley Scott had the most freedom to follow his vision for the movie

...and Old Boy?! What can be said about this movie? Don't see the remake even if Spike Lee did direct it. The original has to be seen to be believed. The South Korean films are next level. cheers ;)

That's an interesting roster...very eclectic ;) I read the graphic novel Watchmen before the movie came out, so it has a special place in my heart. Like nothing else out there for sure. Bladerunner is a classic of cinema and a sci-fi classic. I encourage these to be seen before the newer movies in most cases. They inform a lot of the newer movies that get made. It's cool to see those influences and call-backs.

FYI.. i saw bits and pieces of watchmen but i was like 16 and definitely not paying attention to the themes at all. I just wanted to see superpowers and bs like that lol
