I would also get in watching Queen of The Damned if you haven’t already. It shows rockstar Lestat and queen Akasha(played by Aaliyah rip 🥲). But if you don’t want to get ahead in that until after season 3 comes out, then I also understand 😅

I don't have the timeline right...Lestat had to receive Akasha's blood AFTER his "first" encounter with Armand (in the show). That's the only way what you are saying makes sense. He wasn't able to defend himself against Armand in Paris in that scene when Lestat was with Nicholas/Nicky. I'm really hoping we get Lestat's version of this in the next season. I'm sure Armand's version according to him and Louis is pretty...loose.

Of course it's Armand who turned Daniel. It's a major plot point in the books and one of the few things Rolin Jones has explicitly confirmed in an interview. Furthermore it was always obvious, to me at least, that Lestat is choking Daniel in the teaser, because he either didn't like his book or didn't want to talk about it any more.

I agree Daniel's maker is Armand. Brushing aside the '90s movie, I don't think the show would change Daniel's maker from who it is in the books. Plus, Daniel and Lestat both have blue eyes, but Daniel's vampire eyes change to look brown/amber like Armand's. If Lestat was his maker, his eyes wouldn't change color, just intensity ("Like a church window"). The coughing threw me off at first, too, but I realized Lestat was just using his powers to shut Daniel up because he didn't want to talk about the book when Daniel started asking him about it.

I love when Molloy asks LeStat what he thinks of the book and LeStat starts chocking him to let him know that he doesn't think much of it. I also love how LeStat just starts taking control of the zooming of the camera and you can hear everyone in the background trying to work out what is going on. Really looking forward to Season 3.

Lestat the 🐐🐐🐐. IWTV is hands down the best series I’ve seen since GoT. Couple of things: 1. Daniel Malloy coughing like that made me think. I don’t think vamps can get normal human illnesses like that. I wonder if he’s still mortal when he meets Lestat, and he’s the one that turns him. Louis never said Armand’s name. 2. Rockstar Lestat! Remember finale episode he said “I have the blood of Akasha?” Have you seen Queen of the Damned? It’s the movie with Aaliyah as a vampire that a lot of celebs do on Halloween. Aaliyah is Queen Akasha in the movie. Lestat is a rockstar…that’s all I will say

They might not include that detail in the series. It's so specific. We really don't yet know what changes will be made except that most should take place from TVL, right? But I have a feeling there will be major changes. Especially with fans being salty about Claudia/Madeleine's deaths and Louis taking a back seat in the book series. I already heard things about Jacob's role in the new season. Will be interesting to see what the changes are implemented. This is speculation and not meant to be spoilery, ya'll. If you come at me, I can take it ;)

I don't think Lestat "controls everything" as much as he loves to be the center of attention. I think he has the charisma and the charm to usually get what he wants but this doesn't mean he hasn't suffered or have been in situations where he's in over his head. He's just super rebellious and I think, laughs in the face of anyone or anything that tries to control or manipulate him. Hence, the gremlin Armand. He wasn't ever really going to defeat or maintain dominance over Armand because obviously, Armand is much older. But I love how he talks a lot of ish to his face, at least the little bits we get in the series. I hope we get more of this pettiness from him toward Armand, who absolutely deserves it ;) *in my opinion!

I think Raglan just meant that although Louis is the most human of vampires, he still very much a predator and would kill him if he did too much, and I think from the Talamasca pov Armand saved Daniel in 1973 since the tape recorder only caught Armand saving Daniel and not Louis later on.

It’s inspired by 80s Rock-n-roll and the lyrics are quite telling 😅 It was written by Daniel Hart who wrote the soundtrack for the show. Fun fact: he was in a band that went on tour with David Bowie (they opened his concerts). Lestat will have a whole album inspired by classic and alternative rock-n-roll, jazz, classical music and other inspirations. They hired two songwriters to write the songs! We may even get a reference to Raleigh Ritchie!

I stayed up until 4am to watch a shaky instagram livestream of this year's iwtv comic con panel, and thank god I did bc I got to see this released live. I am so incredibly excited for the upcoming season, bc just on the basis of this teaser, they've understood and captured the tonal shift between the first two books perfectly. The little monologue that Lestat does to the camera push-in? The opening paragraph of The Vampire Lestat, verbatim. She's a crazy, crazy girl. Lestat is going to hijack the the story in his own flamboyant, dramatic way, and I am chomping at the bit to see Sam execute it. He has demonstrated incredible skill at maintaining the scale and volume of Lestat's big personality, never letting it get too big or too showy, like a lesser actor might be prone to doing. Every hair toss, twirl and sweep of a hand contains this remarkable undercurrent of vulnerability and earnestness that makes him the beloved character he is. The fact that we get to see Lestat go on tour??? Losing my mind about it every day.

Yeah, no one is supposed to know about the Talamasca so the evidence Daniel was presented with has to be left out of the book cos how else could he explain how he got it? Lestat was unhappy with the book so I can just imagine the amount of context that was just edited out.

Same in love Armand so much but that man is a liar, I do think it's the perspective thing again, I don't believe he was getting blocking memories throughout the relantionship but I do think he blocked 2-3 big ones and they fundamentally change the way Louis walks through the world as Louis says "I knew who I was without those memories"

As for a release date, I think Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 is likely. I’m leaning toward Spring 2026 just because there’s another show AMC is putting out in the same universe called The Talamasca and that will most likely be released in the fall of 2025 and I don’t think they’d have two shows from the same universe airing at the same time.

This came out right after season 2, like within a couple of months! It’s really impressive that they managed to put it together so quickly, but they haven’t even finished writing the season yet much less started filming. We don’t have a release date yet but hoping for next Halloween or early 2026

In the finale, Daniel implies that the Talamasca made him take out a bunch of stuff and because they are supposed to be a secret Organization, I’m pretty sure they made Daniel take out the fact that Armand helped the coven lynch Claudia and almost kill Louis so to me the “Armand told the truth” tattoo means that there will be in-universe teams, Team Armand, Team Louis, Team Lestat etc.
