What the heck have I been doing lately? Well...
Project Amidst progress
I've gone back to working on Project Amidst for a while. I got the the feeling most people really don't mind the sequel to Amidst the Sky getting closer to an actual finished game, and I had lost motivation on all my smaller projects. That motivation for other games will come back shortly, but for now I'm having a both a hoot and a holler respectively working on Project Amidst, and I'll continue doing that until motivation switches back to the aforementioned other stuff again.
When I first worked on the game, I would regularly just not do the To Dos that I'd deem boring. The list of "boring" tasks got so large however, that I really had to do them before going further, as it would get too much out of hand otherwise. ...So instead I just started working on completely different projects altogether, hoping that I'd want to complete this list someday. A few examples of such To Dos are:
- Update the textbox system to something better and so that it reads text from an external file for possible localizations.
- A working inventory screen.
- zzzzz...
Apparently, the day of prophecy has come recently, as I've been steadily finishing old task after task, to the point that I'm almost done with the spooky list. The tasks listed above are among those that are finally completed. In other words, in just a few days I'll be creating new levels in unique environments at a rapid pace again. I'd estimate the game is about 15% completed right now, but there's an immense pool of ideas built up over the years and I have no idea how much of that I'll put into the game as well. Who knows, maybe a 2030 release is feasible..?
Past the Sky
I did not release a new Quecto last month, which kinda sucks, but pretty much nobody's playing them anyway. I did, however, release a prototype for Cloud Swimmer / Waterfall Scaler tier patrons last month. To sort of make up for this gap, here's something completely different that nobody wants: Past the Sky is the predecessor of Amidst the Sky and it's awful. The details can be gazed upon in this blog post RIGHT HERE.

I don't recommend playing it though, as it's simply not fun and very difficult. I just beat it again today, so it's not impossible though. Consider playing Amidst the Sky again instead.
By the way, despite being all caught up in Project Amidst's development again, I'll do my best to release more Quecto content this month. I realise right now the collection is slightly dull, but it's building up to something. It's not quite there yet though.
