You require two colors of yarn, one for the main background color (dark color B) and one contrasting color (light color A).
Terminology: all crochet terms used are U.S.
Technique: Double filet crochet, Interlocking filet crochet.
Yarn: Scheepjes Stone Washed
Yarn weight: Sport. Ball weight: 50 g, yarn length:130 m (142.17 yds).
Hook 3.25 – 3.5 mm. Hook size needed to match the gauge.
Yardage approx. 4000 meters of Sport weight yarn for each of your two colors, which is a total approx. of 8000 meters of yarn.
(4300 yards per colors, a total of 8600 yards of yarn, 1500-1600 g for each color)
Size: 150 cm wide and 210 cm long (59 inches wide and 82 1/2 inches long).
Gauge: approx. 10 stitches in 5cm (2”) by 5,25 rows in 5cm (2”) in dc stitch pattern.
Using a different gauge won’t affect the design, but it will change the finish size and the amount of yarn needed.
The use of other types of yarn or loose crochet can greatly affect the amount of yarn needed.
The pattern contains a graph and Right-Handed instructions.
- On this blanket, I worked with a 3 mm hook and I got a tight crochet. If you like looser crochet, use a thicker hook. Yardage I needed 3380 meters (26 balls) of Scheepjes Stone Washed for each of two colors (801 Moon Stone and 805 Blue Apatite) which is a total approx. of 6760 meters of yarn. (3697 yards per colors, a total of 7394 yards of yarn, 1300 g for each colors) Size: 145 cm wide and 200 cm long (57 inches wide and 78 3/4 inches long).
