If he did not play halfling or heriarch turn 1, IMO there is no need to play needle that fast, if you did cavern, turn 1 patchwork +jar, turn 3 saga + needle + whatever 2 drop you draw you are already attacking with a 4/4 and have protection from Yawgmoth turn 3.

i ended up keeping it but didnt pitch the gemstone caverns. my thinking was that my opp cant win against this hand and i just have to play it slowly. T1 land pass, turn 2 Neelde (naming yawg), boseiju, jar pass and turn 3 i dropped saga patchwork. it might also be correct to picht patchwork for caverns and go turn 1 saga, jar, needle.
