I like Patchy Mix! But Pedro just went tit for tat with Chito, is insanely durable, and Patchy isn’t likely to be able to submit him. He’s humongous at the weight, which would help him, but I don’t think it’s too weird to think Pedro might be able to get something done

Think Patchy is being underrated there. One of Bellator's good fighters for sure. Garry is walking cringe but at least I can watch an Irish fighter that can actually fight instead of whoever Bellator have wheeled out to lose in Dublin. Only 25 too so even if he had have lost I think he'd have come back and continued to improve but happy he put on a calm performance and didn't headhunt. Funny thing my mate and myself noticed is that yes Garry absolutely tries to act like McGregor but there are plenty of interviews of him just speaking normally and relaxed and still people are like "This guy thinks he's Conor!" and it's literally because he has a Dublin accent. Again, he does cosplay Conor but the comments are odd when its videos of him actually being himself. And The Chris thankfully wasn't knocked out which is all we could have asked for I think.

I get that feeling as well. Weidman was really a marvel looking as dominant as he did, and then it seemed like it all just flipped upside-down on him after the Rockhold loss (which I still find an uncomfortable beating to watch).

Appreciate the time spent for Weidman. He was exceptional. He had a combination of jiu-jitsu and wrestling that put him on par with guys like Jake Shields, Frankie Edgar, and Aljamain Sterling. More so, he had power in his hands, could feint and cut the cage well, and on top of all that he was strong, durable, and had a tremendous gas tank. He's a fighter who despite once being an undefeated champion with three very credible title defenses and having dethroned one of the pound-for-pound greatest fighters of all time, still feels like he never reached his true potential.
