Quick note from Halloween
🕑 Added 2023-11-06 15:21:02 +0000 UTCI wanted to do the whole DIY Chewbacca but I would have died of dehydration 20 mins into it. Work being work, what I did end up doing was taping giant google eyes over my own and entertaining children at the door. My version of entertaining is open to scrutiny.
Imagine going to the door and being greeted by a google-eyed goon that can't see a thing, wrongly guesses everything to how many of you there are, what you're wearing, and where you're standing. Then he drops handfuls of candy into your bag, or half in you bag, or maybe on your head. Then he wishes you a Happy Halloween, waving at no one in particular before closing the door, leaving the kids to stoop and pick up all the candy he dropped.
PROS:
– It's kind of fun being wilfully irresponsible
– Listening to children complain about the interaction
CONS:
– You really can't see a thing
– Tape hurts your eyelids, for days to come

A recipe for success
I filled a cup with whiskey and 7up, and walked my daughter around the neighborhood. By the time we got home I was feeling awesome.
