🕑 Added 2022-05-25 19:40:28 +0000 UTCSupposedly Kaito and Meiko were supposed to be a couple.. but the Crypton, the company that created them didn’t establish it as canon since it would defeat the main purpose of a Vocaloid. However, in spite of this they are often paired together. 💙❤️
My headcanon is that there is a mixed RR (role reversal dynamic) between these two, with Meiko sometimes being more forthcoming and confident, while Kaito remains a bit shy and silly hehe. :)
Their voices were also designed to go together, so I took inspiration from this fact and drew them singing a duet while sharing the same mic. 🎤
One last fun fact: Kaito was created two years after Meiko, who was released in 2004. His name was chosen because it would sound good with “Meiko”, and “Kaito” is also easy for overseas fans to pronounce. :)
