doesn't matter i guess as long as it scales properly on whatever site it's hosted on. ppl post things on like e621 and furaffinity and theyre like 5 times bigger than my 4k display and it's really obnoxious tbh. i dont really get the point of it

A nice middle ground is good. Not too big and not too small.

Higher resolutions are nice because the images are more "future proof" for high end displays that will become standard in the next years.
Generally 2k to 3k
