We are lucky and privileged to be able to not worry about things like hunger and warmth, yet we can still find ourselves quickly grumbling about inconveniences in our lives. A smart person might reference Maslow's Hierarchy of needs and be like: "Bro, we will always want for something". I think that's probably true! I can be very unresponsive to a celebrity's struggles (until the one which I like dies), why? Because they're richer than me? They've got problems too, right?
What the fuck am I blabberin' on about? This song looks inward. I like to think I can "Reset" my gratitude from time-to-time, but nah. I'm movin' up in the world like always and I won't stop until I get the next thing. 😎 Maybe then I'll be happy...? Or maybe you can't reach the top of the pyramid.
I wrote it when I was a student so I wasn't exactly thrivin' at the time but I knew enough to feel almost guilty about the suffering of others.
