I avoided this movie for years, especially after hearing about Oscar Grant in real time because I knew it would piss me off. The sad thing is the 11 months that police officer spent in prison is more time than a lot of other cops spend for killing unarmed black men. That is, if they get any prison time at all.

Oooff, I didn’t know this was a true story the first time I saw it. Read so much into Oscar’s story and cried, saddest part is the cop did less than a year in jail for killing him. RIP
