Smashing someone's property with a bat is very wrong. Radio Raheem was wrong, but Sal was wrong for damaging property. Call the police if someone is in your store acting reckless.

Mere words shouldn’t cause that type of reaction. All it did was prove that Pino was right all along. The brawl that erupted is understandable but burning down Sal’s pizzeria for what the cops did to Raheem wasn’t just morally wrong but logically didn’t follow through either. Raheem was no angel. He went in there looking’ to bully Sal, then attacked Sal and then resisted the cops. The cops went too far, obviously, but Raheem intentionally placed himself in all those dumb situations. They all made bad decisions… nobody did the right thing.

Sal did nothing wrong. Bugging’ out instigated it all. Raheem was unreasonable for no reason. Mookie didn’t care about anything except for his selfish wants… didn’t respect his job, didn’t even care for his child. I love this movie but hate how it all turned out in the end. MJ, the word n***** is not something we take lightly and because two people provoke you, you decided to say something that we don't take lightly on top of it you called the music hip hop which is black music jungle music furthering another racial stereotype. So that's why the Korean is okay and sal is not

Here's what you got to understand about sal. Yes, he was being provoked by radio Raheem and bugging out. But when he started throwing the n-word around he involved other black people. If he would have just called radio Raheem an a****** or dick head then it would have been fine. But when you use the word n**** you evolve any black person who heard you say it cuz that is an offense to the entire race so after he said that he made it about more than just radio Raheem. It was wrong for radio Raheem to go in there blasting his music. He was wrong and sal made himself even worse. First throwing the n-word around cuz they see how them four kids were sticking up for him before but once he said n***** they were mad at him because he was mad at two black people. He decided to take it out on all black people by using that word, including the kids that loved him

Thank you Carla for this request. Fun facts: Spike Lee wanted Robert DeNiro to play Sal. Robert declined because it was like the previous roles he played. Samuel L. Jackson, Giancarlo Esposito, The Mayor played by the late Ossie Davis, Mama Sister played by the late Ruby Dee, the stuttering dude played by Roger Guenveur Smith, Mookie’s sister played by Joie Lee is Spike Lee’s real life sister, Radio Raheem play by the late Bill Nunn & Pino played by John Turturro were in a lot of Spike Lee’s movies.
