A great movie and a good remedy for self-pity. The first time I watched it I thought I was going through a hard time, after this movie based on true events showing what this man had to go through, I knew better.

Mj this is based of autobiography of Chris Gardner. Just like movie books turned movies they change a few things to make the movie flow better or for dramatic effect but this is based on a true story. The lady in this movie did believe in Chris at one time but that changed. If you really look at it he did a lot of stupid things like getting into that business without investigating it first. She was supportive then but she got tired. She eff the only one being money in regularly and he in her eyes was refusing to her a job and help. I'm not saying she's right or wrong. I'm saying she's human. And all of us have our breaking point. People critize that she left but she left to get a better job with more money. And honestly who's to say that if she didn't leave that chris would have succeeded. It's possible that he only succeeded BECAUSE she left instead of in spite of. She was his saftey net. Once she was gone it was literally do or die. Some people need to have everything taken away, and have their backs up against the wall to do whatever needs to be done. JFKJr. Once said you're never really an adult until both of your parents die. That's because for most of us, no matter hold old you are, your parents will have your back and for some that's enough to quit when things get hard. Having to rely just on you to feed and shelter yourself and a small child is motivation like a MF! You can't fake that
