That’s incorrect. Doctors 1-4 were only billed as Doctor Who in the credits, but they weren’t called Doctor Who in the show. They were always just called “The Doctor” in canon since the very first episode

honestly one of my favourite moments from the entire show is Amy saying ‘you took my baby from me, and hurt her. And now she’s all grown up and she’s fine, but I’ll never be able to see my baby again….the Doctor is very precious to me, you’re right. But do you know what else he is, Madame Kovarian? Not here. River Song didn’t get it all from you, sweetie.’ She was a boss bitch in this moment and the entire series and i love her
