yes, im seriously still thinking about clara asking him that!!! its so interesting and is certainly true from a perspective

Next time it gets cold, and you can see your breath, don't turn around or else that boney ass creature will be stood behind you! Really liked this episode, loads of good points but enjoyed the idea of Clara asking the Doctor if she/humans seemed like a ghost to him, because in essence she certainly is to him!

I love the interaction at the start where the doctor refers to Emma as Alec's "companion" and she clarifies "assistant." And the doctor follows it up by stating that it's 1974. In the 70s, a number of dw companions were "assistants" until they decided to move back towards happenstance companions. I interpreted their interaction as a subtle nod to that era. I feel like Moffat, especially, is a loyalist when it comes to the term companion, whereas other show runners lean towards "friend." I'm sure he did at some point, but I can't recall a time when 10 introduced Martha or Donna as "my companion X" rather than "my friend X." No matter what the doctor calls the person they travel with, the fandom has always and will always call them a "companion" lol.
