the specials came 1 a year i think, it was a few years between these seasons and this specials was a way to help us over the time xD so jaeh they were not part of a season

The 4 specials are basically because David Tennant was busy filming something else, so he had no time to film a whole season. So in that year was no season but 4 specials.
