Stephen Moffett says in interviews that it isn't hard writing for new doctors because although the actor may change the essence of the Doctor character is still the same, it's just the new actors bring their own style around it and you'll love Matt's take I'm sure. Also that person who said DT crashed and burned after Doctor Who, oh my word that's the silliest thing I've ever heard! Emme have you seen Good Omens? If not maybe a show to try out, it stars Tennent and Michael Sheen and is very good!

"Hollywood careers"...
The Dog Walker
Thats why I limited it to " Hollywood careers".

You think David "crashed and burned", huh? I can't tell if you are ignorant, shallow, or just completely deluded. Matt gets a part in a Sony Marvel-verse movie (and a crappy one at that) and a Game of Thrones pre-tread. And Karen got an MCU role and Jumanji. David, meanwhile gets a string of high-level projects... Broadchurch, Good Omens, Jessica Jones, a string of well received theater work as a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, voicing Scrooge McDuck after the passing of Alan Young. Oh, he also won a BAFTA. By this definition, "crashing and burning" is something to be desired. Besides, Hollywood isn't as big a deal as it used to be. The movie business is visibly and rapidly dying. I DO quite like Karen Gillian and Matt Smith, but to suggest that either one of them has "eclipsed" David Tennant is simply delusional.
Emme
harry potter and jessica jones! i also havent seen the newest jumanji. i did see her in marvel though i didnt realize it was her

Season 5 is where my Dr. Who journey began! I hope you enjoy it! Matt Smith is my favorite doctor.
The Dog Walker
What did you see him in? You didnt see Karen gillan in Jumanji?
Emme
technically hollywood isnt the end all be all for a good and lengthy career, personally as an american david tennant was the only actor ive heard of by name and seen before
Emme
wow!!!! that's wild
Emme
oh wow i didn't know that!!! that's cool!
The Dog Walker
Who also was the best actor in all of new Who.
The Dog Walker
Matt and Karen have the best Hollywood careers among WHO BBC alums...eclipsing even David who when you look at it crashed and burned.
The Dog Walker
Karen plays Ruby Roundhouse Killer of Men in Jumanji.
The Dog Walker
Agreed.

Great reaction I've subscribed now as being waiting for you to get to 11. It's the start of one of my favourite era's of Doctor Who and one of the greatest TARDIS teams (and I started with the 4th Doctor). Matt Smith as 11 is my favourite nu Who Doctors. He really captures the genuinely eccentric ancient alien in a young person's body and felt closer to the doctor of old with his whimsical ways yet can flip to have that gravitas and serious authority when needed. I love 11s look with the tweed jacket, braces, boots and bow ties are cool. This is also one of my favourite looks for the TARDIS inside and out. The outside has changed to a brighter look with the addition of a circular Saint John's ambulance badge on the right door similar to the first doctor and 60's movie TARDIS. You've got a great ride and seasons ahead!

The best description of the 9th, 10th, and 11th doctors I ever read were as follows: Christopher Eccleston - a tiger stalking through the jungle, David Tennant - Tigger, bouncing through life with a grin on his face, and Matt Smith - a spastic orange cat that runs into glass doors.

Hi Emma great reaction. Like myself I know your a massive David tennant fan now and I suggest another to drama starring David tennant and Olivia Colman who was in this episode playing the woman with two girls/ prisoner zero. It’s called broadchurch and it’s a whodunnit drama where an 11 year old boy is murdered and found in a beach in a small close net town. David tennant plays the detective on the case it ran for three seasons with each series having 8 episodes. I guarantee you’ll be hooked. Best wishes in the new year and hopefully see you reacting to Broadchurch. David x

Fun Fact: Caitlin Blackwood, who played the young Amy Pond, is Karen Gillan's cousin and this was the first time the two met.

When watching Doctor Who as it airs, the BBC announces Doctor and companion changes, whom and when, so you're not surprised necessarily when they happen. Your way of blind watching adds that level of mystery that makes this so much more fun! It's like watching the show through fresh eyes! And yes, we're setting up the long game already.

my reintroduction to the Doctor (after watching some old ones in the 80s) was Matt Smith who quickly became my favourite. This also is the first time the series was filmed in HD which was why it looks so much cleaner, and Moffat went with a clean break which makes it easy for new fans to start from scratch. I know originally he wanted David for this season as his final one but Tennant said no. So they went with Matt. Also Amy (Karen Gillan) is Nebula from Guardians of the Galaxy and Matt plays Daemon Targaryen in House of the Dragon. If you watched that series.

My fav doctor, to me the 11th doctors era is very fairy tail like. Down to the music, and visually.
