I think this episode is a really good example of how there won't always be a happy ending just because it's doctor who. Its just more realistic- sometimes good people are punished for no reason and sometimes bad people get rewarded for nothing

You & Ten have the same catch phrase, his is just in French, Mr Copper's ending is a special moment & a nice way to finish off an episode that had a lot of characters dying, though he will have to travel a bit out of London for his house as a £1m would get you a i bedroom flat in the capital Another Christmas special in the bag & a new season awaits, Allons-y !!

I dont think there is a reason, he just likes it. I dont know about the uk but it's a semi common phrase in canada

Allons-y is a French phrase. It means, “let’s go”. I’m not sure if there is a deeper reason for why he says this in French, but I think it is just a catch phrase for this doctor. Other folks might know more.
