Thank you for another wonderful reaction, Emme. You are correct as to explaining your thoughts at the end in which the dream Tanjiro had was of an ancestor from the Sengoku period (over 300 years ago). I can definitely understand the confusion as to the timeframe compared to the present, since they made the ancestor look so much like Tanjiro. As to whether the swordsman was a demon at that time, the only evidence we have he was not is that during the dream, he is outside in the sunlight. That's all I'm going to say at this time, based on your thoughts that you've been sharing to avoid spoilery things. Keep up the amazing work, always love your reactions!
