The Nazi convo reminded me of a fun fact: a lot of eugenicists have historically been heavily involved in nature/endangered animal preservation. Our old president Teddy Roosevelt, for example, publicly subscribed to a lot of eugenic views, and was also big into preventing Buffalos from going extinct. It's absurdly ironic that they valued some life and not others, and these dudes were huge assholes about how they approached"protecting" nature. It was always at the expense of natives who they considered to be lesser humans.
