On the topic of not being good at games, I think a big part of it is people who "used to be good" were just a combination of innately good and somewhat practiced, whereas now people actively research and lab games. In addition, there's just way more people that take games seriously, so there are way more people that have that innate talent. I used to be in the top 1% of League players in the early days (when the Insec kick was considered the apex of micro) and now I end each split in Gold. I could likely push for Plat, or maybe Emerald, but I couldn't never return to that 1% because the amount of hours people grind and the amount of people who are just absolutely goated are both way higher. I'm *better* at League than I was 10 years ago, but now I'm a fraction of the rank.
