Elden Ring is truly a work of art. Whenever it first released I was 17 and had a girlfriend. Then I proceeded to pour 375 hours into it within the first month of it being out which inevitably led to my gf dumping me. Which prompted me to pour another 150 hours in a ng+ playthrough. That was two years ago I’m still single with now over 750 hours in the game and I don’t regret a single minute of it

similar shit happened to me as the motorcycle hit and run story, cops don't give a shit. had a semi truck run me off the road and my car flipped twice into a ditch. had two people in the car with me. dude just kept driving. cops asked me what happened while i was concussed and bleeding everywhere, wouldn't take my boyfriend's statement after he mentioned he was my boyfriend (we're gay) and told the EMTs he was fine. told us to just get in the ambulance and stop asking when we asked if we could get our phones to contact family cus we were out of town. cops always suck.

I tried to get into Dark Souls for years because I always heard how good it was but was never able, even though I'm a huge RPG fan lol. Kept trying occasionally over the years to see if it would click, but it never did until Elden Ring. Even at the start I didn't enjoy it and was getting frustrated because I wasn't used to the combat lol once I got used to it though, it finally clicked and it is one of the best games ive ever played hands down. I did look up things in order to understand mechanics, but tried to avoid looking at specifics to keep surprises which I think is a good compromise for Souls games in particular because they are definitely obtuse at first. I've since gone back and played the other Souls games and had a way better time since I'd already cleared the hump lol

Just finished Lorelei and the Laser Eyes the other day, and that game is also high art. One of the best puzzlers ever i think. If you like puzzle games you should 1000% try it out. Its got actual good and challenging puzzles, none of that bullcrap AAA "but the square box in the square hole" typa puzzles. You'll need a real life notebook fr.

My boyfriend bought me Elden Ring because he wanted to watch me play one of his favorite games, I think it’s artistically beautiful and the music is really good. However I just have a hard time with games that are difficult and it’s 100% a skill issue. I just get really discouraged and stop playing games like that for months at a time because I get stuck and find it difficult to want to keep going. I think it’s fun but I find myself wanting to explore more than fight things and I know fighting things is the only way to get better🥲

When elden ring came out I was broke as hell working at pizza hut. A friend online bought the game for me as everyone else was playing so I could join the experience. It was so much fun to be part of the phenomenon of everyone knowing what it was like when they saw Radahn's second phase! the comment about americans being trained to not use the ambulance is so true im 28 and p fucking broke and i had a heart attack a little while ago and the emts said that i was most likely having a panic attack but i could take the ambulance if i really wanted to so i didnt and 2 hours later my ex got home and i asked her to drive me to the hospital and i honestly thought i was going to die many times but especially during that drive so i get to the er and they say i was having a major heart attack and i ended up getting a bunch of clotting removed and had 2 stents put in so big true and scary shit because i dont do any drugs except for smoking some weed and i had a team of specialists from multiple hospitals around my bed trying to figure out what happened and turns out my biological mom had serious heart issues and i didnt know since i was adopted but thats why it happened just unlucky spawn rng i guess but yeah tru shit slime also sorry for the poor writing i literally paused a sheik v marth matchup for this and now im going to try to avoid getting tipped into the abyss wish me luck

Something that's so interesting about Elden Ring and the Souls games in general is how From has become masters of the "invisible difficulty slider". There's no menu to change the enemy health and damage. It's just you using the tools provided to make the game more or less difficult based on the experience you're looking for. ER is also just the most densely packed open world game that also allows you to completely ignore it and run straight to the legacy dungeons/bosses. It truly is a massive game that lets you play it in whatever way you want

I got hit by a guy speeding not signaling when i was on a bike. He gave me a fake phone number and threw a bag of the shittiest weed ive ever seen at me as he sped off and said “that’s for the pain.” Meanwhile the new roommate, i will regret ever taking in out of pity, is standing there going “i dono how to get to the new house” instead of calling the cops or asking if I’m ok.
