When lud and slime did prop bets on whether a dude would take off his hat if he lost I was locked into a pools game. I think commentary and side bets might up the viewer count/retention on early rounds. For data, I never catch anything live I'm always a 3am vodwatcher. They’re talking about the instant pot story but it didn’t really happen the way they said it, it’s actually more insidious imo. While their point about it being such a good product that you don’t need to replace it is true, it wasn’t expanding into other areas with R&D or anything like that that killed the company. Basically, a bunch of investors took over the company in 2017 by taking out loans, they rode the profit and success of Instant and when the bills came due they filed for bankruptcy. They’re still right about the unfair expectations of the market to always grow, but there was some investment fuckery that made things especially bad in this case.

Just ran my first marathon this spring, completed in 4:12. I’d been running for years and did 1+ hour runs weekly, but I only really did 3-4 months of actual marathon training and was very inconsistent. I think getting through before the cutoff is very doable if you train consistently enough and don’t get injured for the next 7ish months.

As a 30+ year old day 1 yard viewer that has never played melee and has no intention to ever start playing melee, this was the first melee event I actually watched. I actually paused the video in some places to go watch youtube tutorials so I can understand the lingo and characters more. I understand Slime's point because there are tournaments for games I am passionate about that just has too little amount of games, and I also complain when they exchange viewership numbers over the quality of tournament. I also understand Ludwig's point because there were parts I did not care and skipped over, and there were also some parts I wanted to care but did not understand what was going on because it had way too many inside jokes. So, I would love to see more fun events in between melee games and it would be more hype for me. For example as someone who watched all the episodes I would love to see the yard playing melee and more stuff like the Mogul Money video. Also, if possible I would love to have some infographics that explaining the characters and their abilities during ad-breaks.

In the convo of Swiss vs double elim. It shows more often that double elim is more entertaining because there is more stakes and Swiss seems to be quite the snooze fest until single elim bracket. If you’re trying to find the best team/player you do Swiss. If you’re trying to put on a more entertaining event I’d say double elim
