maybe it's because they're in a canadian hospital and not some private clinic, but the anaesthesiologist I know does not have a decent schedule lmao. You're on-call for like 72 hours straight with very little sleep, and that's just considered a single shift. And these sleep deprived mfs are the ones giving you the perfect amount of poison so it actually knocks you out, but doesn't leave any lasting effects. Horrible treatment

But I talked to him about it and apparently the stress of literally holding someone's life in your hands and being directly responsible for their otherwise 100% avoidable death weighed really heavily on him near the start of his career.
