This dude in the second question needs to chill out. good advice, just don't force interest in something or someone, and stop looking to be validated by other people's interest in you. your feelings are valid, but most people are not thinking, damn, this guy is so fucking bland, I gotta dip. unless you just are actually that bad, and if that's the case, find another way to evaluate your self worth. yeah, social status and friend pool definitely help validate that you don't suck, but it's not the only way to validate that you don't suck

Hey its Matt from the 2nd question. Appreciate the perspective from you both genuinely. I didn't communicate the whole issue how I wanted to but yall still gave me some tidbits to really think about and help focus my introspection. Confidence and sense of identity are stuff I will definitely work on. The bit about how we're all experiencing the same stuff in different skins was something I never really thought about till now. Yall ended up leading me to the conclusion that I, like everyone else, have facets about me that make me who I am and that itself is interesting but I need to figure out what they are and why they are part of me. Also not trying to see myself as that pickup artist type guy but Nick's bit about active listening and helping the other person unearth stuff in the conversation gives me a starting point on how to have more profound connections with people. Can't help but be a math head about everything but I'm satisfied with the tools given to help me figure my shit out. Feeling good about it now. Cheers yall
